Hopefully this is so we can get a bit of cash if we sell him.

McT has now overtaken him in the pecking order.

Not a bad shout as to why we’ve extended the contracts of Jones, Smalling and Mata as well.

Leicester full back...

I don't think he has done enough to warrant a new contract, although the same can be said of several others including Jones and Young.

I still have big reservations on whether he is good enough, especially in the DM role.

I agree on the dm thing... He can pass a ball but he's wasted there

You look at his under 20 world cup final goal and the Southampton strike... He's more effective higher up the pitch

Don't think this is a good move. Would love to be proven wrong though.

Thank God for that

Good job Ed

Tuanzebe has too. Good news, even if they don't make it we can still sell them on.

But is he effective enough? Hasn't shown to be at any point in his career tbh. Reminds me of a poor version of Sigurdsson.

Some players just take a while to click and understand how they can effect a game.

We've done a good job selling our other players on long deals for waged other clubs can't justify haven't we.

Tuanzebe
In the market for another CB

The club really need to start shipping out some. I remember thinking this last summer when we were in the same position.

I am happy with this as I rate the lad, but it is going to be a big season for him. Will be interesting to see where he is deployed. Jose seemed to like him at DM and we know that Carrick was coaching him in that role previously. I am not convinced that the experiment has worked or that it played to his strengths. He likes to move the ball quickly and play one/twos and in triangles. I would be keen to see how he gets on further up the pitch. For me, Pogba tends to slow the game down too often, and I would be interested to see how Pereira does in that position should Pogba leave. In all likelihood though, he will probably play a little deeper, alongside a DM.

If he gets a chance to prove himself and play himself into the side then great.

Also, if we do sign someone in midfield and his role is reduced we can send him on loan for a year and still get a good fee at the end.

I think this is a pretty good decision overall in that case.

Stop being a miserable bellllend and be happy that we have secured 2 promising players for a few more years. They might not succeed but I’m happy to give them both chances rather than lose them without doing so.

There are signs that Andreas can be a good player, but can't see him being more than a squad player.

With herrera and Fellaini leaving,Matic being phased out(hopefully), we are short on numbers in midfield. I hope we get Bruno, then we just need a CB.

However if we dont get a CB, Axel should be given a chance

I can sort of understand Young (to an extent) as full back cover but Jones I'm not so sure of. It's a shame as I think there's a good player there but you can't rely on him fitness wise I'm afraid.

I agree there is a player in Jones, but if he shows a bit of form, he chucks in a calamitous mistake and/or injures himself. This has been the case for what, 8 years now?

Agreed. Sadly. Without his injuries I think he'd be better for us than what Maguire would potentially be. I don't think we'll ever see it with him though at United.
