I agree there is a player in Jones, but if he shows a bit of form, he chucks in a calamitous mistake and/or injures himself. This has been the case for what, 8 years now?

Agreed. Sadly. Without his injuries I think he'd be better for us than what Maguire would potentially be. I don't think we'll ever see it with him though at United.

Indeed, he is one I would like to sell. It would be typical that he manages to stay fit at his new club, becomes highly rated, then the media/pundits bang on about how we were stupid to sell him.

Nothing to talk about Pereira. Nothing special about him. I don't see why some believe he can come good. What i can say about him signing a new contract is that he is so lucky he is at a club with clueless management.

Just seen a retweet of Oles press conference from 8 months ago when he was basically talking about the deadwood being cleared out and how players will face the axe etc.

We're fackin struggling at that aren't we?

Can't be bothered writing an article but the latest news is that Inter have offered £10m and Nainggolan for Matic.

Didn't Nainggolan only just move to them last year? How bad must he have been if they'd rather have Matic

Serie A would probably suit Matic now. And Lukaku. And Jones. And Young. And any other cumbersome players you can think of that we have lying around.

Maybe Conte feels Matic would be better in Italy?

Don't know how Nainggolan has done there to be honest although reports suggest he did well but Inter would prefer to play a younger player in midfield.

From Wiki he's described as:

Considered by many experts to be one of the best and most complete midfielders in Europe, due to his ability to aid his team both offensively and defensively, Nainggolan is a quick, dynamic, hard-working, physically strong and versatile midfielder, who is capable of playing in several midfield positions; possessing good vision, passing range, and technique, he is often used as a playmaker in front of his team's defensive line.[54][55][56][57][58][59] He is also known for his attacking drive, ability to get forward and eye for goal from midfield, courtesy of his powerful and accurate striking ability from distance, as well as his movement and ability to make late attacking runs off the ball; his talent, energy, skill, and wide range of attributes led to him being used in a more offensive role as an advanced playmaker behind the two forwards during his time with Cagliari.[55][56][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67]

Due to his pace, stamina, tenacity and aggressive tackling, as well as his willingness and ability to chase down and press opponents off the ball, Nainggolan is also a good ball-winner, and has frequently been used in a box-to-box role;[54][55][56][60][68][69] he is also capable of playing as a winger.[70] After his move to Roma, he was mainly deployed as a central or defensive midfielder in a 4–3–3 formation, and, on occasion, even as a right-back; following the arrival of Luciano Spalletti, however, he returned to playing in a more advanced role as an attacking midfielder or second striker in a 4–2–3–1 or a 3–4–2–1 formation.[55][60][68][69][71][72] He has also been used in a more central, attacking role, on occasion.[61]

In addition to his footballing abilities, Nainggolan has also been praised for his leadership in the media.[73]

Some energetic leadership coupled with his good grasp of English could make this a sensible short-term signing if true.

Just take the 10 million for Matic. No brainer.

Nainggolan is 31 so I wouldnt bother with that deal to be honest.

Have Inter shaken a magic money tree and found an extra £10m? We should reject the offer and ask for an extra £10m up front for Lukaku.

Maybe selling Nainggolan will help them with their FFP? I'm sure people with more FFP knowledge than me would be able to confirm but isn't it something to do with amortisation?

As for his age then he's pretty much the same age as Matic but he seems to have a better engine than him.

I'd actually go for this deal as not every one of our players have to be youngsters. This would also leave space for perhaps one midfield signing?

We could do with that on the field to be honest!

I forgot Pereira was at the club. I don’t think hr’s got much of a future in the team, he’s not good enough. Good news about Tuanzebe, he’s got a good chance of establishing himself in the squad.
