We love a drama ..............................NOT !!

Undervalued, both in his skills and the asking price if what we read is true.
The signs were there last season on his social media that Pontus thought "he was the man" and was locking horns with Bielsa prior to him trying to stop the Villa goal.
I'm not surprised he's on his way out and (despite his skills) the last thing the team needs is a disruptive influence.

Best defender we have had for years, streets better than Cooper, losing him to Brentford God help us!
If we had been bid huge fee from a lower Prem side and we are as broke as it seems we are but please!!!!!

Hope you are right Mont and this is all dreamed up rubbish. If we are letting PJ go for the rumoured price then somebody must be getting a big drink out of the deal

I think every player has a price and it often depends on who instigated the sale

Pontus is worth what any team is prepared to pay. At the moment it looks like £5.5m from Brentford.

I don’t see a massive queue of PL teams willing to pay more but you never know - now it’s out in the open they might come in for him. Doubtful though.

Personally I’d like to see them kiss and make up but if they can’t then he has to go. I won’t slag him off. He’s a good player who many like due to his attitude and commitment.

However if he is as good as we think then surely a club will come in with a massive offer?

Also we only got £1m for Cantona for a reason.

Because the club handled it badly, like they have with this.

We’ve let ourselves be done on price

Just made this very point on another thread. Things go wrong with players, it happens in football but then it is all about how the club handles it from then and with the Saiz fiasco and Jansson seemingly going to Brentford for half his true worth we let ourselves down.

Excellent player for us in his 3 years, very committed and a good connection with the fans so under no circumstance should he get any stick when we play them.A good test for the fans when it happens but am sure some will fail it.

Just a few thoughts on Jansson - he’s come to be seen as a disruptive presence at Leeds and it’s reached the stage where the club and Bielsa felt it was in their best interests to cut ties with him.
Brentford was hardly the obvious move (everyone assumed there would be PL interest) but the fact that both Leeds and Jansson have gone for it tells you a quick resolution suited them both and a reprieve was out of the question.

If Bielsa wanted Jansson, this deal wouldn’t have happened. The club needed money in this window for FFP compliance but Clarke’s move to Spurs eased that pressure significantly. This seems to be more about personality/attitude than cash.
Jansson is a very good centre-back. I think we’d all agree on that. But Bielsa has always been more concerned with collective endeavour than individual talent (which isn’t to say he doesn’t value individual talent. Just that he values the whole machine more).
