Good news for England, might get away with out losing this one

On a side not. How irritating is Michael Vaughan and dishonest.. In a clip showing the story of KP. after the whole textgate with the south africans. Michael Vaughan is saying in the show how KP should never play for England again. Yet at the time Vaughan was blaming the England team and they should do their best to keep him..
"he just needs to be understood"..
Vaughan is a deluded moron because he managed to win the ashes for the first time.

I've watched all the episodes of the Kevin Pieterson story. We all know sometimes KP was a bit of a prat but he was a top class player who should have played at least another 3 more years for England. It only seemed to be ECB where he had problems with. There was never any problems when he was playing for Surrey or other clubs etc.

swann came off as a right cant to me, at least Pieterson admitted his failings and shortcomings as a team mate

Yep I agree Swann did come across as a bit of a cant. I'm tempted to get KP biography to see everything he says.

he has that annoying smirk when he's thinking he's telling the truth which is a tell tall sign he's lying

KP would have been their best skipper, and under him England would not have capitulated like they did in 2014 and 2017 in Australia

I disagree, England's best chance of winning is to bat first. Australia might bat well in their first innings which prevents England from winning but there's a far higher chance that England will lose. No need to take that risk at this stage and I'd favour us to win inside 4 days if we're batting first rather than second.

Swann was always a bit of a kn@b but I can't take KP's side after hearing what he did to James Taylor.

Not sure why we would have fared any better if he was captain for these 2 series as the whole batting unit was a joke in both other than Malan in the last series.

yeah that was pretty bad, lost a lot of sympathy for him there, its not a players job to decide weather another player is good enough, you be a team mate not a pr!ck

It may sound left field but i would play Curran instead of of Denly.

Curran is a solid bowler who takes wickets and always gets runs... Denly just doesn't perform and isn't good enough

posted on 15/8/19

Aussies win the toss and bowl, Root would have done the same which I sort of get but it surprises me. It will be tough against the new ball which suggests neither captain feels good about their batting.

Curran misses out so Denley keeps his place so he needs a score today.

Not seen the documentary but KP was an utter cant. Only mistake was not getting rid of him earlier.

Most of us feel the same to be honest but England have gone with Denley. Curran offers more but England are backing the top order batsman to score runs which is what England need. Whether Denley is that player seems unlikely but hopefully he can prove us wrong.

Bad toss to lose. With the forecast over the next few days, I can't see how we can win this test match.

posted on 15/8/19

Funny that before the toss all the pundits were saying bat first now both captains want to bowl they have changed their mind.

Get to lunch no more than 2 down and we are in a great position. Likely to be a low scoring game and advantage batting first imo. Obviously unless we play like we did v Ireland...

KP was a legend, arguably one of England's best players in the 21st century. He was treated very poorly. Need to build a statue for him.

As always the truth lies somewhere between the extremes. KP was and is a narcissistic tοsser, but he was also an unreal player. He wouldn't have been a good captain long-term at all since the best captains unify their teams under their banner, as it were. But he should've been in the side a lot longer, and would've been had the higher-ups not been scared off by his aforementioned narcissistic tοsser-ness.

Anyway, today... I can only say I'm glad Starc isn't playing.

Roy's not cut out for Test Cricket - he just wants to play at everything.

He's got no chance as an opener
