Thanks for the update, RITH.

Glad to hear that the family has had some more positive news. Will be thinking about you guys this Christmas

The NHS and the people who work within it and supporting it should be seen as the country’s most valuable assets. Here’s to them too, and all they do

To add onto the point about the NHS. You'll be shocked to know how many parents have had to quit their jobs because their work wouldn't allow them leave even to look after their child going through cancer.
_______

That's truly horrible.

That is vile - those employers should be named and shamed - there is no other option when your child is in need of care be it cancer or any other debilitating disease.

Thanks for all the words of support, I do tell jnr that the people on the forum wish him well - he says we are all weirdos... bless him.

On his behalf thanks for the well wishes, he is on the mend and its great to see.
He's had his auntie (make up artist) to do his eyebrows with some temporary tattooing - self conscious that he is. Luckily they didn't look like Mauser's from Police Academy

He's finally sleeping before his op tomorrow, its relatively minor to take the lumens out and he's had it pushed back a couple of times for other urgent cases. He does have to go under general anaesthetic though, which is always anxious.

There was one lad a year older who had bone cancer - they went to operate to surgically remove the tumour. They somehow missed the prep of the incision area and he contracted MRSA infection, it spread so fast they had to amputate his leg - this was only 2 months ago.

This is what I'm getting at for the NHS, how many of these things get missed as there isn't enough trained staff or time to do things properly.
Completely avoidable, ruined lives (plural) and having to pay huge amounts in one way or another anyway - which won't be enough.

Peace out you all.

good news junior is doing well

i agree with what you said regarding the NHS

i'm going to be needing them very soon for a heart opp

people need to realise , at some point in our lives we'll all need to use health care

a well functioning NHS is the number one priority for this country

i have 0% trust in the tories to deliver that however

Went to see jnrs ex team mate a couple of days ago. He has to have chemo till June, and won't have surgery to remove the tumour until february.

In his condition, due to it being just above the knee he cant put pressure on his knee it so he has to be in a wheelchair. Movement is really impaired and with it the life of everyone around him.

He is a big liverpool fan and hasnt been lucky enough yo go to Anfield in his life.
Jnr and I gonna be away, jnr wanted to be somewhere warm after he is cleared for travel.
Have given the lad and his dad our tickets for the Cup game v Everton.
Sorting the disabled ticket for him, hope they can do something.

Giving any patient of a debilitating disease something to look forward to every week or ten days helps get them through it.

You all have a great Christmas too, spread some cheer, smile at someone, dont get too hung up on material stuff.
A bit of extra kindness goes a long way.
