didn't see any of the rangers game you got the win which is more than you would have got last season.

I thought you would steamroll killie if i'm honest but on that surface any win is acceptable.

‘Either way Gers managed something they never did last season‘

Everyone knows how I hate to be pedantic, but did you not beat them 3-1 in the league cup at Rugby Park last season?!

Each of these pitches seems to be sheidty in a different way.

The Livvy one kicks up a cloud of rubber pellets every time the ball bounces and makes the bounce unpredictable.

The new Killie one seems difficult to get traction on. So many players slipping and falling over. Aribo in particular seemed to take an age to work the surface out.

Its time to get these parks banned from our league.

Yeah and we beat them 5-0 in the cup replay at home.

But we never beat them in the league.

Which was the thing we never managed to do last season.

Ahhh! You probably should have said that then.

The subject of the OP is League Openers.

The article is about, you know, the LEAGUE that just started. 👍

Was it too subtle?

No need to get so uppity. Was just helping the accuracy of your statement.

Good win, indifferent performance although i thought we deserved it on balance.Second half we/the manager should(I think)have changed it earlier but it's good to see fight until the end and it's still a great way to win
----------------------------------------------------------------------

i feel reassured by celtics performance but we have fir park next weekend which will be totall different, so hoping for a victory there, will be a tough game.

It didn't help at all. It is pretty clearly an article about the League. It says it in the title.

But aye well done - you cleared up the confusion that you introduced

a good game to start the season, Bain could have taken the day off.

i like big Ajer, he's a cracking cb and the one we should pair with Julian IMO.

bittons a great option to have tho

Our new RB is lush.

We had players on their game on Saturday and we came up against a very disorganized side
but that will not always be the case , we do have attacking flair but we also need to see this team grind out a result when required
Cluj game will be very interesting and it will show us where we are more than Saturday
St Johnstone are a disgrace btw , did they not get beat by Edinburgh city or something preseason?
They are simply not a test at parkhead , on the opening day in a charged atmosphere ...I'm looking forward to seeing Celtic when they have a test ...like Wednesday

Btw Hatem looks a fine player and although boli played very well on Saturday he still looks jerky and jittery on the ball for me .
He's a potential disaster waiting to happen ...a Saidy Janko type

wow

looks whos a big bowl of fried neggs.

in fairness in the same game last season we would have passed the ball about our back 4 thinking we were barcelona while teams just sat back thinking "batter in"

we say disorganised, but i think our movement was really good, we were static last year.

i'm chuffed

Yeah we looked like we were playing without the shackles on..that whole

Ball retention , ball retention ,ball retention

Boring as fck , but effective

Nice to see us play with a bit of flair and invention

Painful for St Johnstone and it should be setting off alarm bells. Could be a very difficult season for them.

The transformation in Christie is incredible though. Great strikes.

Jim Duffy tipped St Johnstone for relegation and I just watched the highlights from Saturday and can see why.

Celtic were terrific but St Johnstone were very poor. The one their keeper let through him and the one the CB missed the header by a mile were pretty comical.

The way they sat off celtic was alarming for them.

But that didn't affect the outcome of the match celtic were clinical and would have won comfortably either way. Some brilliant strikes in there.

It was a right statement of intent, tell you something else, woe betide teams who stand of Christie around the 18 yard box, he only needs a half yard to either score or cause the keeper to make a save.

BBC Highlights are only 5 mins, they missed out loads especially Eddy's mazy and one move that if it ended in a goal could have been GOTS first day

This video has some extra highlights.

Poor performance but a decent result considering we hadn't won away in the league there for 8 years.

I think we lacked players willing to take risks yesterday. We looked strangely unadventurous in the final third.

But as 'poor' a performance as it was we dominated the ball and had 10 attempts on target to Killies 3.

It wasn't pretty but 3 points on opening day on a terrible park will do
