Incredible that Utd have managed to blow 125 million pounds on two average players. Woodward doing a fine job for my money.
When you think back to the days when Ferguson hoovered up all the best players, it's quite a come down for them. Quite funny really.
Ferguson never "hoovered" up the best players like City though.
Neither AWB or Harry are average. They are at least good if not very good. Unless you can name 10 better in their position in the PL.

Short memory. United were financially dominant for years. That changed when the Russian came along. Have a look at how many transfer records Ferguson broke. City are rich now but so are quite a few others. It isn't the monopoly it was back then.
Being financially dominant and breaking transfer records does not mean he "hoovered" up all the best players. He didn't.
And this "monopoly" is worse than before IMO as its a matter of opinion. United earned what they spent and that means something.
The monopoly has also caused damage to the game eg. accelerating the inflation in the game to break neck speed.

If by earned you mean were put in a position of financial advantage through using money gained from selling tainted meat to schools then you are correct. They used that money to fund title bids and got lucky that they were in pole position when Sky changed football finances.
