He looked decent for Chile to be fair, I don't think it's complete a case of "he's lost it", partly I'm sure but he clearly isn't happy in his environment.

I think had he gone to City he'd still be playing at a decent level.

Remember how good he was at Arsenal? What happened?

Maybe we're about to find out whether he is actually prepared to take less money to play football.

Did he have a row with Greenwood recently in training or was that just media talk?

I think the biggest issue is that he knows he isn't likely to start as many games unless he really does have a major turnaround in form. That leaves him as a super sub, which I reckon he would be good at with his energy, but doesn't want to play that role. Apart from Juvet, he will be a starter for all the teams he is linked with.

I hope the reports are true. He’s absolutely useless. It angers me seeing him in a United shirt.

He wouldn't get in the City team Busby.

Rooney did have a few mini-Renaissances, to be fair to him.

Trade you for Mkhitaryan

In all seriousness, this has to be the worst swap deal ever. No surprise it happened between two of the worst run top clubs in the league.

Plenty of rumours about how much of a disruptive influence Sanchez was at both Barca and Arsenal, how unpopular he was with the other players. Think it was Honigstein that did a piece on it for Totally Football podcast.

If that's even close to true then Utd are better off getting rid.

If he wants to on the money, that's up to him. He won't get many bonuses but sitting on Your back side for 391k-400k is pretty sweet. All he has to worry about is being fit for Chile then.

If he really wants to play it may be United let him leave but pay off the difference in wages as he isn't going to get that a yone else but China. And their transfer window closed without anyone showing interest. That sums up how much he's wanted by others.

I’m not surprised, he’s not even good enough for the Chinese league.

Yep, he has just got too many miles on the clock. That last injury at Arsenal did for him.

He played a lot of football in the last 4/5 years before joining us, averaging over 60 games per season for club and country. I think he might have overdone it during the period and it has wrecked his body. He doesn't have that explosive acceleration anymore.

Yep that’s the thing. I actually think Rooney and Torres, at this moment in time, are better players than Sanchez.

Actually think Sanchez would be decent in this Ole styled "blitzkrieg" football.

Call me overly optimistic but I think Sanchez should get a shot here.

He's probably got implosive acceleration now.

He starts off slow, and the harder he runs the slower he gets, till he's just moving on the spot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair, in Rooney's case in particular, he had more variety to his game - he's a goal scorer, he could ping a pass 60-70 yards etc...

Sanchez is a winger who ended moving more centrally and as his physical powers has regressed, there's simply little left to show for it.

Torres has the luxury of being a striker so although not as good as he was by any stretch, was at least close enough to the goal to show moments.

Sanchez doesn't have the speed he had to be effective out wide and, although very good technically, is much too loose with the ball to be effective purely as a playmaker. He's totally done.

The possible way we could at least something from him is as a back-up #9, and that's because he still has good movement and can finish - he just can't get himself into scoring positions from out wide.
