The Chelsea one definitely, but I thought today's and the one against Palace were clinical, way beyond his years and level of experience. He's still raw at times but has been our most threatening forward player overall this season.
I don’t think Arsenal are struggling tbh. They’ve bought better than us and have plenty of goals in them unlike I think we do
And Chelsea are starting to look good and Tammy Welbeck is getting a run of goals and helping his confidence rise. Plus they have Kante and Rudiger to come back
A very well written article... refreshing.
Rashford is a 30 goal a season striker, if the season lasted from when he was born until now. But then he would still be on 29.

Yes, I could have made that clearer - I don't say they are struggling, but if they do, and/or Chelsea do, we're likely to benefit. At the moment, I'd have us behind Arsenal and probably Chelsea too if I were forced into a prediction right now.

I agree - I'm by no means writing him off altogether, or Rashford, or Lindelof. But Pereira did very little against Chelsea and again today. He's going to have to start producing soon or he won't get, or even really deserve, that run in the side he needs.
For me, this season Ole gets a pass.
I like his ideas and what he’s trying to achieve. But the squads mismanagement over the past 4-5 seasons and the terrible recruitment make it a seriously tough job. We’ve spent a kings ransom and have a poor squad to show for it. That’s not on Ole.
Can’t see us finishing above 6h this season. But Ole has started to move on some of the poor recruits which was needed 4 years ago. I hope we can have a good season in the EL at least (god how the mighty have fallen).
How some distinctly average players are still in the squad from when Fergie was manager is just baffling beyond belief.

Think Pereira would look better if he was tasked with playing a bit deeper with McT allowing Pogba to move further forward. Just working hard and protecting the back four would be something.
I do actually think that now may be the time for Fred to get a chance further forward if we do insist on playing Pogba deeper.

Pretty much my view. I'm hoping one or two of the cups can provide some moments of drama and we might even grab one of them, but I don't hold much hope in the league. We're too easy to play against as things are.
The thing is, if Solskjaer lasts the season, it will be a huge learning curve for him as well as some of the younger players. I think what a few fans misunderstand when others "moan" about the current state of play is that we actually want Solskjaer to do well and be manager for a while, but we're not ultimately the decision-makers. If he is sacked before the end of this season, we've simply gone backwards and no one wants that. We'd probably return to "proven names" like Van Gaal and Mourinho and watch the cycle start again. It's not simply a case of not rating Solskjaer or "wanting him to fail".

I disagree.
Last season, he turned an absolute shîîtshow of a season, into an unlikely potential top 4. Only an absolute collapse in the last 10 matches denied that. We also saw the most dramatic European night I’ve seen in years.
This season, I think the style of play is much better. He has a plan as far as I can see, and I like what he’s preaching to the squad. I like he can see players aren’t up to scratch and need to be cut, and is actually getting rid of them.
Barring two missed penalties and two missed headers from Lindelof, we could have had vastly different results.
Comparing him to Moyes is daft. Moyes was clearly massively out of his depth at United and lost the respect of the entire squad inside a few months.

Yes, he's done better than Moyes. Let's not forget away wins against sides who ultimately finished above us, albeit some were cup wins - Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea. Moyes never really looked like doing that kind of thing. Better work in the transfer market too.
Pre season transfers etc., MUFC had three 'forward' players worthy of the shirt and regular first team play (pogba, lukaku and mata) and two (and a half) defensive players worthy of the shirt and regular first team play (smalling, Jones & Shaw).
One of those forwards went, another may possibly go. One 'forward' came in (could be a good one - james has epl experience which is imperative), and one (unnecessary) centre back came in.
The defence is okay (despite the presence of an ordinary keeper behind them), but the creative, attacking and finishing (especially) is strictly mid table, and without the defence might even be capable of flirting with the relegation zone.
Rashford is a sub at best. Martial little better.
The academy players, that have the jerklike posters in their usual paroxysmal mode, are just another indicator of how broken the academy has become.
Need two centre forwards. Creative, intelligent midfielder, a left winger (too late now because they needed to have epl experience) and put the rest back in the reserves until they get a clue.
Going to have to be a massive rebuilding process next summer. Doing it piecemeal ain't going to carry no truck, these league is way too competitive. And united's current squad will scare nobody, absolutely no nobody, in this league.
Loads of records are going to be set (and broken) this season. All of them bad ones.
This is NOT a blip, or loss of form. This is a deep, directionless, 6 years in the making, issue.
"Average" at the moment would be an aspiration.
