Fair summary, lots of possession no end product just like last season. I would be interested in how much of the 62% possession was in our own half because we seem to play the ball around our own back line/GK an awful lot.

It's not Rocket science,if your home form isn't good you won't go up.

Just back to hotel and agree with most of that, Def looks really good (especially dallas) compared to last year. allioski couple good chances at start then faded out of sight. thought both forshaw and klich offered little and time to drop one or the other and play pablo central and costa starting. also think eddie needs to start in front of bamford who seems to dissappoint more than he pleases. dont care how many he scores i think he is the weak llnk in the team. not even sure eddie is the go to player either, great impact player but not sure of him starting tho

Wait. Wait. Wait. Strike.
I think we are seeing the blueprint for beating Leeds. We looked predictable in the second half. THis is going to give other teams hope when they come to Elland Road.

Two up top at home is the answer. Get at them. Bamford is good at movement and creating space for others but there is no 'other' there at the moment.

Start Costa and bench Forshaw at home. Move Pablo central.

Was strange to take bamford off for Eddie I’d have kept Bamford on and taken someone else off.

Costa has to start. Miles better than Harrison.

Team versus Barnsley,
Kiko
Dallas
Alliiski
White
Cooper
Philips
Foreshaw
Hernandez
Costa
Eddie
Bamford

Just go for it Kevin Keegan style!

Didnt Promotion get slated for suggesting some of the above a couple of weeks ago.............

Team for Barnsley exactly the same that started today and got us 9 from 9 at home a different matter

posted on 31/8/19

Promotion had a very valid point about not having enough goalscorers in the side.
Neither White nor Cooper are regular goalscorers which means our set-piece threat is very limited. That puts pressure on us to score more goals from open play and when teams are organised and deep its not always going to be possible to break them down. Thats when you need a wonder striker from midfield......only Klich scores from distance.

We definitely didnt deserve to lose but we didnt do enough to win. Their keeper made 1 save?

we were top of the league on goals this morning.

we have two players on the bench who easily have double figure goals in them.

we start with one of the best strikers in the league.

Pablo has goals in him

Both our full backs have goals in them

the side is not wanting for goals

that was Promotion's point.......players with goals were sat on the bench and he wanted them in the team..............but nobody else on here did

not particularly.

we have players who score.

If we need to we replace them with other players that score.

we also have goals in the team from klitch in the centre and our fullbacks.

we have plenty of goals in this side, its not a problem, as our goal difference shows

Costa needs to be starting now. He could have been the difference today and we go 1 nil at half time, he's just miles better than our other wingers.

I thought Nketiah was a bit headless when he came off the bench, all round game is a way off Bamford at the moment and we struggled to build attacks when he was on.

Last year Bielsa was making much bolder substitutions at this stage, hope he reverts to that.

Their manager's coming across like a bel lend. Couldn't wait to tell YEP how he set out to do what they did today.
Trying to give himself credit for outdoing Marcelo.

Pr 1 k. They got lucky with a late winner after we hammered them. If someone on our team had been
on it today, in front of goal, Swansea would've been dead and buried. They won. Yes. But for their manager to talk it up the way he is, seems pretty idiotic.

Batty, whatever you think of him, Cooper is a very good manager. His team is well drilled and motivated. You could see we were running out of ideas in the last 20 minutes and they were beginning to ask questions. Marcelo never says much about the opposition in his post-match interviews but, like Jonty, I would like to see him be more imaginative in his response to a problem. We were never going to score in that last quarter and he was not willing or flexible enough to change that. Last season, he was the first to admit mistakes and to shoulder responsibility for our shortcomings, even when it was clear the players were at fault. This season, so far, he has not done this, but some of his game management has been questionable. I guess I would like to see a little more reflection from Bielsa. Let's see what we can learn from this lesson. Barnsley away is just the kind of fixture to get ourselves back in the mix.

When did our form start slipping last season?
I'll tell you when, it was when Harrison was given a regular starting position.
He very rarely has an end product and we have started well this season in spite of him but he kills this team.

Agree that Costa has had more than enough time to get up to speed with Bielsa's programme or whatever he uses to determine bedding newcomers into the team.

He must surely be more effective to us helping break the deadlock early in a game rather than coming on later when the pattern of the game is set in or even chasing it if we fall behind.I bet the opposition are relieved each time they see him on the bench rather than starting.

What the team needs imo is an out and out
instinctive striker with good technique and decision
making...unfortunately that costs money and we
don't have the financial resources, so we have to go
with what we've got and hope one of our attacking
players steps up to the plate...we live in hope!
Yes we need to create more but how long is a piece
of string, every team needs to create more chances,
don't they? Creating chances is not the problem for
me, it's translating the possession we normally have
into more goals, comes down to the quality of
strikers or potential goal scorers.
I think changing the midfield would be taking a big
gamble with the teams dominant midfield, with
possession, the numbers game say the defence
wouldn't have the same guarantees of protection.
Crowd support is always there I know but there is
another side to the coin as it quite often motivates
the opposition and makes the home team too
anxious...I would say taking one from midfield,
having 2 strikers would compromise possession its
also not proven that having crowd support always
works in our (Leeds) favour...you only have to look
at our home results at the end of last season and
beginning of this.

That’s just pure crap.

If you don’t think he should start that’s one thing, if you think we have other better options in the team, again that’s another thing.l and fair enough.

However don’t just make stuff up, our form didn’t dip or change when he was introduced into the side.

It’s really easy to find our form stats and compare it to when Harrison started and the periods he was out of the team, do that next time instead of talking bull
