Good news but if he doesn’t find his form again might be a curse as we’re possibly stuck with a keeper whose best days might have been behind him. I don’t buy his poor form was because he was distracted by his club situation. Makes no sense. When he was dropped by LVG it was because the move was within 1/2 weeks of the dropping and that could have been a situation. But as far as I’m aware this hasn’t really gottten close at all to him leaving us.
As it is we have a keeper who is poor with the ball at his feet and we’re possibly moving to a footballing future where the best keepers are judged on their footwork and quick reactions at coming off their line rather than shot stopping.

I don't think DDG is particularly poor with his feet... His distribution isn't Schmeichel or Edwin level obv... And he's not the sweeper keeper as is the fashion atm

DDG is definitely better than Big Pete was with his feet. Pete's kicking was quite wild (he'd just blast it) - not his strongest attribute at all. His distribution from his hands was next level however.
The difference in these Gk's distribution isnt all that huge. DDg however is the best shot stopper by far

Great news.
One of the best in the world for sure. Defence is starting to come together nicely.
A top right winger and 2 top CM’s, mixed with the best of the youth players coming through, and the squad will be shaping up nicely.
On paper he should be nearing his prime. He still makes top drawer saves (see the one Vs Leicester) but his concentration levels appear to have been an issue for him, hopefully with this new deal he will.be settled again
