Also, I sincerely hope that if he does fully co-operate with any investigation, rather than making excuses for what happened. If these allegations of 'street racing' are true, then he needs to be up front about that. If they're not, he should probably go on record and make a statement to clear that up.

I understand the point of view of those who think they shouldn't be sacked, it's a fair enough argument. I happen to think otherwise, but it's just an opinion. There is no need to try to belittle it by calling it "virtue signalling" or "faux outrage". I don't expect it to happen anyway for the reasons which have been given.

Vidal, I agree. They should go.

This isn’t faux rage, but a recognition that what they did was beyond any kind of mitagation. Drink driving is beyond the pale and too many of us have been affected by alcohol and the effects on others. Imagine if they had hit your wife/husband/child? This wasn’t a case of “5hit, I only had 2 pints” but a deliberate, conscious act of thinking “yeah I’ll get away with it, fnck everyone else”.

In my profession there would be severe repercussions - one ex-colleague, excellent practitioner, was sacked after a similar offence (on the A38).

Also echoing Vidal, I don’t think they will be sacked.

Of course they won't be sacked, money speaks all languages, including Double-Dutch (no pun intended).

Keogh will probably get a testimonial (if he hasn't had one already)?

If there's a presumption of innocence, yes.
Theyre banged to rights.

Wonder what Keogh’s injury is. With it being a RTA more likely to be fractures than ligaments.

Decisions to make. Short-term Davies in for Keogh, or he drops Bielik back. I would favour Davies, his character might be important. Inconceivable that either Lawrence or Bennett could play on Saturday. I expect both will leave in January. Lawrence divided opinion anyway and this won’t help. Probably best all round to move on.

I don't think we have many other options?

I mean for Lawrence and Bennett to leave.

For that to happen you would have to take a loss on Lawrence as I don’t see many clubs willing to pay 5m for him

We take a loss on all our recent signings. Bring back the newsagent.

FFS Bennett wasn't "just over the limit", he was as pi55ed as a parrot:

I know they are young and fit, but after a session like that, there is no way you would be 100% on a Saturday, even if it is four days later.

Correct scouse, in fitness circles it's well known that you have a big session and you have pretty much thrown a whole weeks worth of training down the toilet.

Also, can't be bothered to scroll back up to see who wrote it, but drink driving worse than being a paedophile? Really? Wow. Just wow.

You are straying into ornithological territory here Spart.

Parrots are notoriously light-headed whereas your average Auk would be as fit as a fiddle within an hour or so. Not that this situation requires any levity etc. etc........

Any truth in the rumours that they tested positive for drugs as well?
