This is a massive test. The Reds won’t be the underdogs for once. Let’s hope the expectation doesn’t trip them up.

Stoke are backed into a corner and have two choices after that poor defeat to Crawley Town. If they come out fighting, Forest have to be ready for them.

Lamouchi says he isn’t interested in the league position at the moment. He is right of course. It is more a badge of honour for the fans to be top of the league. Won’t count for anything if the good start to the season isn’t extended throughout the rest of the season.

Three big games coming up: tonight v Stoke, Tuesday v Blackburn away, Saturday v Brentford. Three games that could be defining. We have to get something tonight to make thoughts of the play offs less fanciful.

As well as lacking quality on Tuesday night I thought the team was very unbalanced. No RB, two LBs, no striker. Tonight's team will be balanced I'm sure.

I don't think Silva and Carvalho should both start tonight, nor am I sure about Joe Lolley.

As long as everyone is fit we have five definite starters: Samba, Dawson, Worrall, Watson, and Grabban. After that probably Cash at RB; Robbo or Ribs at LB, wide midfield will be 2 from Lolley, Adomah and Ameobi, CM 2 from Sow, Semedo, Silva, Carvalho.

Get the balance and the attitude right and we should come away with three points.

A little concerned about the small number of chances being created. A lot of pressure on Grabban to deliver the goods weekly at the moment. Hope the pressure doesn’t get to him as there is little in the way of back up.

Been a while since Forest have won in the Potteries. So much so I can’t even remember when it was off the top off my head. It really is a most unwelcoming place but with what is likely to be a subdued home crowd, it represents a great opportunity to collect three points.

I’m going Stoke 0-2 Forest.
I reckon Grabban and Semedo will get the goals.

Yes this has been a concern for me too Will, looking at the stats over the past few games, shots on target have been just like 1 or 2 per game - that’s not great

Saying that, we seemed to have scored each time

I’d rather it be like that, than Leeds for example - 80 odd percent possession, 25 shots on target

Yet only score 1 of them, and settling for a Draw

Starting to get a really good feeling with this team, feels like we are slowly getting there. 0 - 2 tonight with Grabban to get both.

As well as the number of chances we are creating I'm also concerned and have been for a while about the lack of bodies we get into our opponents box when we are in the attacking third.

I know Sabri likes to keep the team compact and that is paying off for us at the moment, but I would like to see us gamble just a little more and get Carvalho, or Lolley, or Adomah alongside or beyond Grabban when they get a chance.

On the flip side, Watson got forward well to score the winner against Barnsley so maybe they’re getting to grips with the demands of the formation a bit better better now?

1994 was the last time Forest won away at Stoke. It was a 1-0 victory with a certain Neil Webb (the second coming of) the scorer. Stevie Stevie Stone set him up with a nice tricky run into the box before squaring it back. That was at the old Victoria ground down the road from their new place.

Forest wore that funky blue and purple effort when winning that game. Forest will be in a slightly less funky dark and light blue effort this evening but hopefully they can channel the energy and skill of that Frank Clark side!

The hero that was Jason Lee. I’m surprised you would refer to him by that Skinner and Baddiel skit. All Forest fans knew his value to the team. He was on a decent run that season in the Prem before FFL got their teeth into him.

First goal is massive! If we get it then I think we will
Win. If stoke get it then suddenly we look like losing to the bottom team and the pressure is on.

They will be desperate for a win as reckon manager is gone if they lose! It’s a tricky game for sure.

I was at that game Will, remember that well. That place was a proper hole!!

Some guy smashed two hot dogs 🌭 out my hands after the game and told to F off back to Nottingham!!

You couldn’t argue with Jason Lee’s commitment and he did score sone important goals. But he used to miss some sitters for sure! Him and Rosario were bad bad finishers!

I thought that was his nickname?

First away game this season. Our last was the 3-3 vs Norwich, less said the better.

I think we’re more attacking than our stats give us credit for as chances such as one on ones and smothered shots won’t inflate our stats. We make atleast 3-4 goal scoring chances a game. Saying that our results are based on being solid.

Going for a tight 2-1 affair to the garibaldi. As long as we don’t give away the first goal I can see heads dropping in the stoke camp. It won’t be cricket score my any means but might take the sting out of stokes play.

On most occasions I believe the performance is more important than the result, NOT tonight, I’d quite happily settle for a scruffy 1-0. I have no idea how much behind Jones the Stoke players are, I am thinking of the likes of performance turned in by our players when Mcleish and McLaren were under pressure, compared to battling for a manager you really rate. We also need to show that Tuesday’s performance has been quickly forgotten. If we score first I don’t see us losing, concede first and Stoke will be a different proposition.
