Good signs 1st half, poor 2nd half

better going forward than most of the time this season, but defensively scary...

a lucky 3 points, but 3 points that might end up being very important.

Curtis Davies - excellent interview

That was deffo a positive too him and Malone pointing and organising and communicating.

Can he do three games in a week though. Although Bielik looked more knackered than him end of the game. Can't believe he stayed on the pitch after the penno and then that challenge halfway in our half.

Still think we've earned some fortune. Unbeaten in three unbeaten in three, we're Derby County, unbeaten in three.

What is it with Bielik ?
Does he have a fitness problem ? Shouldnt at his age

Dunno if he's struggling with an injury. Maybe it was just me but he looked to be struggling 2nd half.

Just back.

More a result than a ‘performance’. We got lucky with two goals, but hey! You MAKE your luck. Lovely to CM score but Daddy’s Boy had a mare with it.

We seem to put more effort in. Martin was very industrious, linking well with Waghorn. Paterson was very impressive despite a dip in the second half. We went 2 up against the run of play only to fnck it up and let them back in. Roos penalty save doesn’t mask a lack of authority nor does it the shaky defence but that was a totally new pairing at the centre.

A win......what a relief ðŸĪŠ

Just back after terrible traffic problems, stuck in a road for 40 minutes. But I'm thrilled for Chris Martin. Curtiss Davies, Paterson, Mel Morris and Cocu. What a win and perhaps a mention for Roos who made such a good save and won us the game.

Well done Rams, who needs the drunks?

Just Zoon the only passenger today. He's not worth a shirt.
Maybe look a Shinnie instead to bring a bit more control to midfield.

I’d definitely sacrifice him for an extra body in midfield.

Come on Derby, you can do this.

I hope there is a defibrillator in the vicinity of VC10?

I got to the match late and was just walking through the turnstile when the roar went up, I watched the replay on the TV and was very excited and wondered if Camp had got lead in his boots. When I finally got to my seat I gave it big to all the tvats who have been slagging off Martin for some time. I was excited when Martin made the 2nd, what a good player Chris Martin is. Yeeeeesssss.

Zoon I thought was much improved first half then anonymous 2nd. I actually think there's a decent player then. Definitely better on the left than the right.

I think Holmes would look very, very good behind Martin or Marriott and give us the fluidity, defensive nous, dribbling and distribution needed to link 5hit together. 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Zoon, Waggy n Pato seemed to do a lot of rotating today behind Martin. Waggy is quite useful dropping back to make it a 4 man midfield as he showed at Leeds and at times again today.

I didn't think Paterson was great first half and looked better on the wing in the 2nd.

I would like to suggest Holmes in the hole but that means we need another central MF. Think it's between Knight and Dowell. Knight probably shading it on defensive nous at the moment. Has Shinnie shown us any 'bite' in the games he has played for us?

....................Roos.....................
Bogle*...Bielik...Davies*...Malone
...........Knight*....Huddz..............
.....Waggy......Holmes.......Zoon*..
...................Marriott*...................

* Lowe until Bogle is fully fit.
Clarke I think will have to help Davies out in terms of squad rotation.
Malone I think's been very competitive recently but Lowe can offer decent back up.
Knight, Dowell possibly Shinnie.
Between Zoon and Pato for the left wing slot.
Martin and Marriott depending on fitness, opposition formation and CB's.

I like the idea of Pato to offer something else from the bench, think others will opt for him to start though.

Can Knight, Dowell or the lesser spotted do the central MF job well enough though, might be the only question.

We really are struggling in midfield, especially now we have been forced to move Bielik back into defence. With few games under his belt in midfield I feel we’d see what we have invested in, but that is looking unlikely for the foreseeable future. Holmes is a good little player but he has a lot of ground to cover as Huddz sits deep. Martin coming back in has helped as he likes to come deep and link up, but I don’t feel this is sustainable all season, especially against better midfielders than today.

Agree Tommo.
Zoon may as not be on the pitch. Ineffective. I saw enough last season to think he's not up to it and Cocu has given him a run but it's like we're playing with 10 men. Literally anyone else would be an improvement.

Made some good runs ahead of Martin, didn't lose the ball as much today, he worries me defensively but so does Paterson, switching off whilst tracking back.

I think he'll come good.
