Jorvik, every team concedes soft goals from set pieces and every supporter believes their team concedes more than any other.

Anyone know a good CH pair and goalie going cheap?

We can't defend to save our lives. Have we won a game with a clean sheet this season?

So Derby don't concede more soft goals from corners more than others?

I asked for proof that we concede more from set pieces than any other team but you don't provide any.

Regards the conversation above ^^^^ Three goals ( all from corners) in two games isn't great.

Very sad. Thanks for the update BraveTyke.

On the set-piece thing, I think I did read somewhere that we have conceded more goals from set-pieces than any other in the Championship this season. I don’t know how many set-pieces we give away though compared to others. In previous seasons I haven’t agreed that we looked more vulnerable than others but this season we don’t look right to me. Part of it is Roos who rarely comes off his line at corners. I thought that having Davies back would help but it hasn’t so far.

Really sorry to hear that, Tyke.
Football pales into insignificance with news like that

About our set-price vulnerability. With universally available video of all games, one can imagine every club in the championship studying our corners and free kicks into the area ad nauseam. How id other clubs succeed? 2 or 3 big players to obstruct and un-sight Roos with a slick header at the near post and a good dead ball performer. But surely we also should be analysing them. The trouble is, it is very difficult to counter the tactics I have described above. Referees should be more aware of the obstruction that nullifies goalkeeping.

And, very sorry for the family of the unfortunate heart attack victim.

'price' - piece - of course.

^^ or just get a decent keeper 3R.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record we concede yet again from set pieces . I maintain Roos instils complete lack of confidence in the whole of the defence due to his reluctance and inability to come and catch crosses, by commanding his 6 yard box . He is shocking. We will never progress...

Whilst writing, equally frustrating, our own set pieces which are just as bad!

Baz did we ever ;et any silly goals in from set pieces when Carson was in goal?

I know what you mean about Roos, but I didn't think he was at fault for either goal, I thought it was Davies' man who scored. Clarke looked poor and Bielik was poor at centre half but improved when he moved to midfield.

The whole team went to pieces when Martin went off. Cocu needs to step up quite a lot.

Yes. And again at the Risk of sounding like a broken record, both keepers are ‘coached’ by Shay Given. Someone who was castigated. at Man United by his own players for staying on his line. There lies the problem?

posted on 3/10/19

I think you mean Man City. If you are right about Given that explains why Frankie didn't want him at Chelsea. Martin Taylor could turn a good keeper into a gibbering wreck, look at how Fielding went from good to awful.

If we need a new keeper, which we do, we should go to Leicester and try and get Danny Ward, he is an excellent goalie, but we must keep him away from Shay.

Some coaches have a lot to answer for.

I'm sure all some of them do is coach the natural talent out of some lads?
