Surely Bielsa will want at least one season in the PL if he gets you promoted?

posted on 10/10/19

I'd honestly have Bielsa over anybody in world football, I truly mean that.

its just about the way he likes to play, but as a man, I've never seen a manager with such integrity, honesty and modesty

If we don’t go up this season, he should be sacked.

There are no excuses

The owners need to be held accountable. Selling assets and not replacing them properly. Bielsa should be allowed to sign his own players. Bielsa should also be held to account, his 'small squad' and lack of rotation policy has hindered us so far. He should be kicking the door down to sign players in Jan.

I would be keeping tabs on Lee Bowyer 100%

Believe it or not I said to the wife weeks, ago SG would manage Leeds 1 day.

posted on 10/10/19

SG has already managed Leeds and did a decent job!..

Did he not get us out of the div 1?..

We could do worse than Gerrard.

If (massive if) we don't go up this season, we'll lose Bielsa.

That's gonna be a massive void to fill and having a manager with top level experience (albeit top level in Scotland) might not be that bad.

There are people with Bielsa now that could be getting ready for when Bielsa does go!..

They know his way and they'll more than likely keep it going, nothing wrong with waiting and seeing how it goes when the time comes!..

People moan around here that managers/coaches ain't good enough, not saying Gerrard wouldn't be good, but he's not been in the job long and not in a managers kiss off death league!..

Or should I say club?..

Gerrard would be a decent appointment. I absolutely don't wanna lose Bielsa, but nothing lasts forever and he's a bit like Mary Poppins, wonderful, but never stays too long. Think we might have a contingency plan in place encase the worst does happen.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think he'd be a good manager for Leeds?

Yes, why would Gerrard be good for Leeds? Surely it would be better either to give Corboran a go or to attract someone from the continent, someone like Farber or Wagner. Think it would be tough for anyone to fill a Bielsa-sized hole at Elland Road but I can't see why we need a celebrity ex-player who has not yet proven his managerial competence in the EFL.

Sorry, don't get it - can someone please explain?

Cause he has a rangers team who are miles behind Celtic top of the league and playing some good football with a couple of big wins recently.

So I can’t say I’m surprised his name is coming up as a possible replacement if and when Bielsa leaves

Also with fat frank at Chelsea the press would love that dynamic.

Gerard vs Lampard
Leeds vs Chelsea

It’s a sports channels wet dream to be fair

I'd prefer a more experienced manager at this level. It's a shame Lee Johnson is such a cant. Always like Alex Neil but he took a while to get Preston properly firing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He's a winner
He's done well at Rangers
Good links to Liverpool / young talent
Players will be keen to play for him
Media darling, which won't hurt us at all

Been linked to a lot worse over the last decade.

Shaun, a lot off times what you write I find unbelievable!..

He's a winner, with Liverpool it could be argued one off their best ever!..

He's done well at Rangers, Rangers and Celtic are both trying to get in the English Premiership, do you want to say why?..

Good links to Liverpool, so we need Liverpool to get the loans you and many more are not so happy about?..

Players will be keen to play for him, I'd think when he's proved himself as good as you think than maybe, but not so many just yet!..

Media darling, do you fancy him?..

Been linked to a lot worse over the last decade, but some off what we've had might have proved better if it hadn't have been for the dumbass running of the club over the last decades!..

I think there are people around Bielsa that'll know the ins and outs of this club and its players, they'll know how the club works and whilst they're here wouldn't take to much persuading to carry on!..

Cant be any worst than what you're suggesting!..

Spot on, Gelderd. This league has a nasty habit of finding out weak managers. Bowyer looks promising. Gerrard has simply guided the second biggest team in Scotland back to Premiership, with a budget few of his opponents could match. If Bielsa goes, SG would be bottom of my list to replace him.

They were already in the top tier before SG arrived.

I thought I read a few weeks back that he was being seen as the natural successor to Klopp?

More paper headlines and click bait.
