Part 2

metro.co.uk – Foden the ‘obvious successor’ to Silva, says Hart
Phil Haigh: "Phil Foden is the ‘obvious successor’ to David Silva at Manchester City and it is only a matter of time before he secures a regular first team place, says Joe Hart.

"With David Silva set to leave the club at the end of the season, former City goalkeeper Hart sees that as the time to Foden to step into the Spaniard’s boots, with no need for him to look for first team football elsewhere in the meantime.
"‘We all want to see Phil Foden play, but he doesn’t have to prove anything,’ Hart told BT Sport. ‘He’s got Man City and Pep Guardiola, they believe in him.
"‘He doesn’t need to go out and have a season somewhere else and play some sort of different system. They believe in this guy and the players he’ll be around.
‘He’s an obvious successor for David [Silva], when Phil Foden does come into this team, he’ll have been around it for four or five years, which should be something you only get when you’re 25-years-old, he’ll have that at 20-years-old. ‘He’s just waiting and ready.’"

Richard Jolly: “Sterling epitomises Pep Guardiola’s perpetual quest for exponential improvement and this was another milestone in his development
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Its funny how by being able to perpetually be on the move and outfox defenders and midfielders with your movement you will eventually be score bucket load of goals irrespective of your finishing prowess.

A lot of people forget that Salah started off like this, not quite good at finishing but always in the right place to score those so called tap ins.Its a skill. Last night there was a goal Sterling scored where he started of behind aguero and ran right in front of him to take it of his nose and poke it in simply because he read the movement of Mahrez and where the cross would be.

I actually thought City didn't play that well with very little control of the game but took advantage of an excellent attacking Atlanta team that so often loses its shape.

Will be interesting to see Sterling and Jesus as a front pairing in future. Jesus is only 22 but already has 50 goals for City. Jesus will develop into a world class forward in my opinion.

Foden had a super game but how in the name of sainted feck did he get sent off? I think that ref was tripping.

He wont be world class as in Mbappe type world class. Those are rare type of players. He will become world class the same way someone like Salah has, by further developing his main attributes and being played in the right systems.A bit like Sterling.

He is a confidence player and can look like rubbish at times but 50 goals already and something like 7 goals in 7 starts tells you he will get goals. He wont be a Thierry Henry but he will get lots of goals.
