The fact that you want a striker to play in midfield highlights the need for a good January window. We have a left winger at left back, a left winger at right back, a right back at centre back. When does that all end? We've had round holes and square pegs for years now.

hmmm i thought roberts was looking pretty good in there tbh before his injury

his best game for us was at number 10 against WBA

alioski isnt a left winger - hes a left back/wing back

he was pushed to left wing for us, but is terrible there, much better with the game in front of him

dallas had been great at right back (prob our best player)

berra fine at centre back till coops back

Id give Roberts a go up top. He did rather well when he covered for Roofe and Bamford.

posted on 24/10/19

dont see that ever happening unless bamford and eddie both injured.

thank god ben white is the best CB in the league.

i just think we need a fresh idea in there.

I'd like to see Roberts and Nketia both in. One taking up the no 10 role. Roberts is a pretty complete striker when fit, good at winning the ball and bringing it under control. They could play a dynamic role switching around.

Roberts will score less than bamford.

I’d play him number 10.

Biggest problem is the wingers final ball is gash

posted on 24/10/19

roberts and klich as the two central ones for me

can think about forshaw when hes fit again

dallas back to right back

need someone in the team who is a goal threat

right now only eddie is

Why does everyone think Roberts is the answer, what has he done.........nowt. Another player with no end product.

Roberts was ridiculous against WBA, we need that guy back playing every week. What is his best position though?

posted on 24/10/19

Ridiculously good in that 4-0 win btw.

Strangely, I can only remember the game against West Brom where Roberts stood out. He was really up for that game because West Brom had got rid of him when he was younger. A bit like the lad who also was let go (from Leeds), Oli McBurnie, who always seemed to score against us.

Not sure why you’d drop Ayling for Dallas, he’s a top right back at this level.

Dallas deserves his spot in the team at the moment. I’d drop Costa, Alioski or Harrison before Ayling.

harrison has 4 assists in 4 games and 3rd most in the division.

dallas was playing great at rb, its not about dropping ayling.

costa for dallas and keep ayling right back could be a should though

Prefer to use Ayling at CB and Dallas RB and leave Beradi out myself.

As for further forward we should let Costa have a run in the team and see what he has. He has not looked anything like a 15m player yet, I hope we have not been sold another "pup"

Alioski works his a**e off but he is so frustrating, shooting when he should pass and wasting possession so often. Rather like Costa, Douglas has not been the player we hoped we were getting from Wolves but maybe it is time to give him a run at LB.

I hope with these changes we can start to get some better quality service into the box for Eddie to get on the end of.
Something needs to change as the last few games have had a familiar feel to them.

If we scored more goals then I think Costa would be more effective. Defences would need to push up and he'd probably get more room in behind.

catch-22

There are pluses and minuses with Harrison, Alioski and Costa. But only one of them is an actual liability – Alioski. As we've seen so often before, against Preston he lost the ball upfield and dropped Berardi in the sh!t. Ok Berardi was poorly positioned, too - he should have been hanging back not level with a player who can leave him for dead. But if part of Alioski's brief is to push up on the left, the one cardinal sin is to lose the ball and not get back to defend. White burst a gut and almost prevented the goal but with a pair as hapless as Berardi and Alioski, he's p!ssing in the wind.

Harrison is a mystery. For an extremely talented player, he seems to be missing the ability (or confidence) to regularly put a good final ball in and also put the ball in the net. Mind you, as a team, we're no better: we seem to think we're Arsenal at their peak and we faff around the box trying to walk it in. We're not and we shouldn't. Tbh I don't know what the answer is - I would say we should simply shoot more once we get in the box but apart from Pablo we haven't got anyone (apart from Eddie) who could hit a barn door at 20 paces. January's window can't come soon enough.

The midfield selection is a real challenge, but the key to the game is how we deal with 3 players who are 6 feet tall or bigger - Nuhiu, Adthe, and Fletcher. They also have a couple of useful players in Reach and Bannan to ask us a few questions. Preston and Brum showed how easy it was to get through our high press and find acres of space in the middle of the field. We cannot expect Kalvin to perform miracles when the Owls cut loose. Each of our injured players would solve a lot of problems for us - Forshaw and Coops in particular. Hands up who would be happy with a draw out of this one?

If all were fully fit, I’d go with this. Called for it after 3/4 games.

Nuhiu and Atdhe are the same player and he wont start. Expect him to play the last fifteen minutes if we need a goal or are one up. What are Leeds like at defending set pieces? We have Iorfa at centre back who is good in the air in both boxes and Borner at the side of him who is also good in the air for someone who isnt that tall. Tom Lees has been out for a few weeks but is back in training although he will struggle to get back in the team at the minute. Kadeem Harris has been a worthwhile addition as he offers pace and can put a good cross in.
