Leather baws were nuts, but now?
I was schite at heading other than to clear or defend, but it's an art.
What's next...no tackles or hard shots at goal?
🤣🤣

I was good at heading, my favourite thing after going past defenders. It is an art and it's a shame the kids are missing out.

Ran about with a guy and his big bro was a Linfield player who could pick a spot for his header goals, when we played between lamp posts for goals, and even when he told you where he would score, we never stopped hid headers.
I was more eyes closed, teeth clenched ohh Fook heid it lol

Heading is a Scot thing too ???
Andy Gray syndrome.
I mean bravery and commitment.
My kids team are driving this forward. Good on them
It's up to under 11's now but to be fair up to that age group they should be playing it on the ground not tactical long balls

You have to at least keep your eyes open bud.
Teach them to play passing football instead of hoofing it like Aberdeen

well your boys team will end up better in the long run if they are being taught the right way
Very rarely headed the ball and scored even less so with a header.
Because I’m quite wee against big defenders and was essentially sheite at heading.

Your Mum says different and I don’t care if she was just being kind
I enjoy heading the ball and was reasonably good in the air given that I'm just under 6 foot.
Having said that, the amount of times the ball has come out of the air with snow on it and the header has been a proper teeth rattler, it must have done a bit of damage in there.
Ultimately kids that age shouldn't be heading the ball anyway and from what I've seen of my nephew playing football, most of them are scared to head the ball until they're approaching their teens anyway
So they can still hoof it over the defenders just the defenders have to get in a foot race. Smart
