It’s just another three points.

It’s obviously not a must win game. Not by any rational definition anyway. Lose and we’re top of the league and 3 points clear!

I don’t think there are any must wins games at this point in the season, they come at the end when the games are running out.

No result on Sunday would be a disaster. A win would be awesome but plenty more work to do. A draw would be fine and a loss disappointing but no more than that.

GB getting nervous

posted on 8/11/19

Yup.

Don't borrow trouble you don't have.

Every game is 3 points, this is a swing game yes but its still 3 of 99 points needed.

Don't believe win and we have one hand on it bull.

Don't believe if we lose it league is over bull.

Our 6 point lead is a 2 game swing. It's far too early cos city are that good to be talking anything but try win our home game but don't cry about it if we can't.

Must not lose in both games is just fine

Still expect a good result tomorrow. Hope it's a great game and we win it, think we will tbh

I reckon it's way harder game than people are making out.

Do they come any harder? Arguably City and Liverpool are the best teams in Europe atm given the difficulties at Barca, RM and Bayern.

Sure we’re at home but a win would still be an outstanding result.

Liverpool’s record against City at Anfield would suggest otherwise.

Let's face it city have 4 first teamers out..Sane..Laporte..Ederson...D Silva.....for me that's too many and I expect us to beat city because of their injuries and what happened last season.

Easy win for the
PL winners this season.

3-1.

posted on 9/11/19

As a erm...neutral, I don’t think it’s a must win for either team despite what Sky are desperately trying to tell everyone.

Just because the title went down to a point last season doesn’t mean it has to again this season, just because City had 99 points last season doesn’t mean Liverpool HAVE TO get 100 this season, football season’s aren’t identical. The stuff about it being a title decider are nonsense, it’s November ffs.

Klopp said today that beating City is meaningless if Liverpool lose the rest of the games, now obviously you won’t lose every game after Sunday but the point he’s making is correct, people are talking like we’re in April - May or something, the PL has never been decided after 12 games, and this year is no different.

Just for the record, I think Liverpool have the bit between their teeth and will win the title the season, regardless of what happens on Sunday.

Dare I say it? 2020 will be Liverpool’s year.

actually GB it is 5 1st teamers out you forgot Rodri who was an ever present until he suffered a hamstring injury in the 1st Atalanta game. I too think you will win sorry to say. partly because of the injuries and also because you appear to be a very strong tight knit unit. I think it will be a comfortable win for you too. The games of absolute vital importance city play in more often than not they always seem to come off second best.

City are the better team, and will win the title again.

Shut up.

Its a must win for City, not us.

Winning would be fantastic, but given the six point gap, not a disaster if we don't.

Pep has paid us the ultimate compliment by amending his tactics against us, which has had some success in recent meetings. Hopefully Klopp has something up his sleeve.

Insightful by sandy again....boys a genius

Has gb ever done a thread about Liverpool not City.

Serious answers only

Sandy invariably gets it wrong. Spurs to win the title etc etc. Spurs are better than Liverpool blah, blah. Flipping to Poch out tantrums when his team pash all over his chips.

The hypocrisy from the filthy filtering crusty old cretin is laughable.

That clown sandy must literally have half the forum filtered

I managed 2 comments on one of his threads after Wolves spanked Spurs at Wembley last year, and BOOM! .....the block is on. 🙈

The game gives a huge boost to the winner, it’s either a 9pt gap or 3 pt so you really can say this game is a 6 pointer, the draw is a decent result for Liverpool so City have all the pressure.
Think will be harder for Klopp to know how to approach it than Pep in the circumstances.

posted on 9/11/19

I agree with GB. It is a must win game. Forget mathematics - I’m fully aware of how many more games and points there are available but this is all about psychological blows.

If we draw, it’s a better result for City. Keeping us in touching distance and then going hell for leather when the likes of Laporte is back. 6 points can be wiped out in a week - and their GD will trump ours.

We simply have to take advantage of being at home and the fact that some of their key players are out.

posted on 9/11/19

I don’t think it’s a must win for either. It’s still so early in the season I think both would be happy with a point.

He's gone from expecting Spurs to lose every match to thinking they're going to smash Sheffield United, who have the best defence in the league, 5-0. Just a ridiculous person.
