Arsenal apparently hold talks with Enrique

Honestly not sure I'd want him, I know he experienced ridiculous success in his first couple of years at Barca but there's something not convincing about him.

(Obviously Emery needs to leave asap, even if we use an inexperienced interim coach for a while)

Kike Marin, the source, said Arsenal held talks with Luis Enrique in 2018 after Wenger left. This was reported Thursday, has he said anything since about a more recent meeting as all these stories seem to base it around the original meeting.

I think Eddie Howe would be a reasonable choice
Or Freddie

Gio van Bronckhorst is available.

No. Another Spanish manager with limited success and no PL experience. History repeating itself.

I still want Benitez. He knows the league inside out.

Rafa is in China now, no? Would be on big wages then.

Mourhino or Keep Emery

Swap Emery for Poch

Neither Mourinho nor Pochettino are remote possibilities.

Mourinho is a busted flush who has had his day. His sides play terrible anti -football and his last roles were unsuccessful in terms of trophies. He is the last person we need right now.
I would go for Rodgers,Rafa, Allegri . Even Eddie Howe would be better than Emery, who really should have been fired this morning.

Forget Rodgers. He’s not going to jump ship halfway through the season two years in a row. Plus he’s building something approaching impressive at Leicester. Arsenal’s rebuild is at least a season behind.

Rodgers will jump at Arsenal if he was offered the chance of taking control of big club again. Better money. And he'll look a hero if he rights the ship.

No, no “interim” rubbish. Same thing happens almost every time when the young inexperienced coach is announced as interim. Team form boosts impressively and results rock in...right up until Mr Interim gets announced permanent.

The uncertainty around whether or not he'll be given the job, dragging on for months, I think psychologically drains players and manager alike. He wants the job, they wanna keep him because they're winning and everyone spends weeks sweating it won't happen. Then he finnally gets the job. Everyone is so relieved, they relax and let up on the pitch (not done conciously).

None of that please. If we're giving it to Freddie it should just be he's the choice and no interim stuff. The stamp of authority on Freddie from the outset. No uncertainty. So players and manager alike only have their football to focus on/worry about. I think Lampard pretty much backed from the outset even with his youngsters, has been a massive help and actual psychological boost to his team. They got no worries and it's showing on the pitch.

My issue/point is I wouldn't wait until summer (for instance) to sack Emery if the man we want is only available in summer.

Whatever happens Emery needs to go now, no fecking around - get that done before he does any more damage.

In the manager not available until summer scenario I completely disagree about writing off an interim appointment, it would be a necessity.

Just because United fecked up with OGS doesn't mean all clubs from now and centuries into the future must and will do the same...

Van Bronckhorst, Arteta, Ljungberg .

Would rather have any of them than those you’ve named.

Easy to get success with a team full of top quality players. Look at Pellegrini - won stuff with City but put him at a lower league club like West Ham and he's struggling. Same could happen for Enrique at Arsenal.
