Mistake not replacing him.

The mistake was not getting in a replacement before selling him.

So we knew he was leaving in March

But it’s not Ole’s fault

We didn’t replace him*

Yeah basically your error was not replacing him. We did the same with RVP, the player was always going but the key is to find a suitable replacement

His comments do make a mockery of other things he's said in the past. And he's dragged Ole's name through the mud in saying those things in the past. I think what he's saying here could be true, but it needs to be taken with every other excuse he's also publicly made me too.

The man's a talented footballer with no backbone or drive to follow through on anything he ever says imo. Maybe he'll prove me wrong. More likely he'll contradict himself next week

“Thanks to my football intelligence”

That was quite comical.

Italian league may not be that strong. Lazio lost to Celtic recently. Twice.

Italian league has been rubbish for about 10 years and more now tbh. Juve have come up from their deserved relegation and dominated ever since. Nobody threatened them, nobody challenged them during that period. And now they can't challenge anyone of importance. They're excellent in the free transfer market, that's all they have going for them

Even if we did replace him I'd bet my bottom dollar the replacement would have been injured for most of the season anyway...

Not bothered he wasn't replaced we can do that next season ffs...

As for Lukaku, it was pretty obvious he'd tear it up in serie a as long as the team played to his strengths...

For those saying it was a mistake to sell him, he had wanted out way before the end of the season. It also makes some sense of some of his antics over the summer before he left.

Pogba in same boat. He's wanted out for hustcaa long, but we won't let him go (and noone wants to pay good money for him).

"said in March that it was time for me to leave England"

Ah. So coincidentally around the time he appeared to stop giving a shīt completely.

Not getting a replacement was stupid, but I think anyone who thinks we should have rejected all of Inter's bids and forced him to stay is actually out of their mind.

And yet they're weaker since having signed a long past his best Ronaldo and a yet to prove it De Ligt, relative to actually winning anything outside of their own dreadful league. They're not even close to the team they were 5 years ago. Those two signings aren't doing it for them. They are treading water in Italy and they are signing a lot of freebies.

What's the point of Serie A though?

I didn't say they couldn't spend money!!! I said the only thing they do well is sign free transfers! They're a circus, much like our own club. But they're experts in getting tree agents.

posted on 17/11/19

And their own league is rubbish. That's not even debatable

What's the combined transfer value of those players compared to when they signed them? 😜

They've done brilliantly in the free transfer market imo. They and their league is an afterthought

Interesting comments but I think there’s a bit of personal PR going on here - by that point he may we’ll have known that Ole didn’t fancy him and that his future at the club was in question.

I think you have a point there Winston. He's still given conflicting and at times pure bitter messages since he's left though. And spent far too much time trying to defend his weight (which was unacceptable, regardless of our physio and fitness staff imo). He was giving weekly interviews for a while and it's just unnecessary. Go out and do it on the pitch and do your talking that way, rather than pretend the weight wasn't an issue, whilst talking about it every week.

Juventus got promoted back in 07-08. Until 11-2012 Milan and Inter were winning the titles

Yep, it’s bit quite clear for a while he was never going to stay without kicking up a fuss. This whole thing has always been on him.

They're excellent in the free market and that's all they have going for them? Apart from signing Ronaldo for 90 million and De Ligt for 75 million the last two summers and consistently getting into the latter stages of the cl for however long.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but apart from the 175m plus numerous other spends
