Oliver now Clattenburgs left, all refs have mistakes but this guy usually gets it right and is pretty much always in a good position to make the calls.

Worst is Moss followed closely by Atkinson, Atkinsons probably corrupt where as Moss is too unfit to keep up with play half the time refs the game on guesses and fourth offixcials and crowd/player reaction cause hes never kept up with play 😂

Oliver’s the best. One of the few who won’t just be pressured into giving decisions the way of the bigger/better teams. Marriner’s probably second; generally has a good game whenever I’ve seen him recently.

Worst is Jon Moss, who aside from being unfit comes up with his own narrative for matches and plays that out instead of letting them happen. But there are plenty of them where you heart sinks when their name is read out. Anthony Taylor’s incredibly weak, Pawson’s like Moss’s apprentice. Most either show either a lack of authority or overcompensate in some way.

Mike Dean is the worst. Genuinely think he loves making controversial decisions for the spotlight. Massive attention whoore

I actually agree with this

well...as far as VAR goes....not one of them has the courage of their convictions & mind set to actually go walk to the monitor provided & actually check their work...they'd all rather sit back & let someone else take the flak

As far as personalities go....I have no favourites - I'd just like them to stand up & be counted

It still baffles me that the refs in the PL refuse to walk across the field and go watch the monitor provided to them for VAR and make their own decisions.
The other top leagues around Europe do it and they don't seem to have many of the same problems that we have here.

Reason rugby refs are respected is that they explain their reasoning and everyone can hear, so even if you dont agree you can respect their decision as they come across as genuinely honest and fair. Ours hide behind any excuse as to not be held accountable, oh cant mic us up theres too much swearing going on etc etc.

I dont have an issue with that. You have supposed top officials at Stockley park who can make the decision. As soon as the refs go to the monitor we will all moan how long it takes.

Issue is a lot of decisions come down to opinion, its unlikely refs all agree even watching it back, so its important the guy on the pitch makes the decision. VAR refs shouldnt re ref the game they should overrule the obvious but anything down to interpretation they need to tell the ref to go have a look. But they shouldnt have to go the var images should be automatically playing on big screens like in Rugby as the conversations going on.

utter rubbish...have you watched how long it takes for the VAR to come to a decision...example

Dele Alli handball two weeks ago - hand clearly up in an unnatural position..handles the ball quite clearly in the area...

Four fackin minutes it took...& then they come to the decision that it wasn't handball...despite the current rules stating that it was

So I'm afriad that doesn't stack up

I think what type of ref you are just depends on what type of bullying you received at school.

What I find quite interesting is that those who were physically bullied tend to let the game flow a bit more, but those who received more damaging mental and emotional bullying tend to want to take control and manipulate. They even actively try and upset the big bully footballers and managers. Unfair is it??? Now you know how I felt.

Ref could've walked...not run...walked to the monitor & made that decision in 30 secs to one minute tops

He actually could've done this in the time whilst VAR were getting it wrong

Weird how Oliver has gone from the best referee in the country to the worst in the space of 7 days.

I'd hazard a guess that people are basing this on last weeks game alone. They've conjured up this conspiracy that Oliver has helped Liverpool and is now subsequently, the worst referee.

Come on lads, get a grip.

Actually maybe cricket was the answer

I think Oliver is decent but tbh I only watch him do Spurs games and the occasional big game I watch.

Yes that was referee incompetence. if the ref went to the screen there is no guarantees then it will get overturned. First of all you will have the Stockly park official look at it and then he will tell the on field ref that they should look at the screen. That will take a few minutes to do.

Ref has to trust the guy in the office. I don't see nothing wrong with that.

It still amazes me that people criticise referees so much, when you consider the level of cheating going on.

When a referee makes a wrong decision, it's often because of a player cheating.

Pubs would close down if refs got decisions right.
