It's the equivalent of a £50k mortgage against a property worth £400k, with an annual income of £50k.
I'm not worried.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As an outsider I would say most Utd fans are annoyed not because this puts Utd at financial risk (which they are not) but that everyone except for the owners are paying for this debt. The £20m or whatever it is in debt repayment is money (a) coming out of the fans' pockets and (b) not being spent on things that matter or cutting prices or getting Pogba a new hair cut

Whilst the Glazers keep their noses out and continue to allow Ed to back the managers in the transfer market I dont have a problem with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think what that extra money servicing the debt could do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go on.....
Reducing ticket costs and making it easier for fans to follow the club. Etc
We already have people fulfilling the DOF rile within the club.
We have a Club Secretary, Head scout, Fee / wage negotiator, youth development director
What else do we need ?

We have frozen ricket prices for how many years now and have allways been relatively good value when compared with the London clubs and liverpool.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but the mistake the Glazers made is not restructuring the club to a more modern system (e.g. DoF, Head Coach etc) the day after SAF left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Age aside it's not like the prospect of SAF's retirement hadn't raised its head years before it happened.
A staggering lack of planning and foresight on behalf of the owners and now 6 years into his shambolic tenure as CEO Woodward is talking about vision and philosophy....
Why compare with other clubs? Ticket prices don't have to match. If the club is making money it doesn't even know how to spend????

I've told you many times to you and your previous accounts the restructuring that is needed on the footballing side of the club.
A DoF provides consistency to our recruitment and broad style of play. Ed's method of hiring and firing managers with different outlooks on the game is counter productive.

A DOF offers no more consistency than a manager does, because they can also move on, be sacked, retire.
And it's no Ed's method. Its every clubs method. How many clubs appoint the same type of coach every time? Very few if any.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The consistency is in the recruitment and style of play philosophy
Of course like managers dofs can also change for different reasons
Unfortunately in utds case ,fack up Ed is untouchable
His incompetence wouldn't have lasted more than a year at any other top club nevermind 6 years
But recruitment wouldnt be anymore consistent under a DOF than a manager, because the dog could move on, be sacked, or retire.
And I don't see the benefit of consistency in style of play, unless you happen to find the best style of play going, which you won't get unless you happen to bag the best tactical mind out there (unlikely)
In short, for every positive of a DOF, there is a negative.
And I repeat the consistency is in the style of play and a recruitment policy that compliments it
That wont change with a new DOF
It gets us away from the scatter gun approach we've witnessed these last 6 years under a clueless CEO
Style of play nor recruitment will be consistent if the DOF isnt around long.
And Rd hasnt had a scatter gun approach to managers
Apart from Moyes (who was appointed at SAF request) Ed appointed the best man for the job UNTIL Ole
