Why do we always get these ridiculous extreme arguments?

Just because I think 40 mill is too much for wages right now, does not mean I want heck, grow up.

We’ve given far too many long term expensive contracts that our wage bill just went up 30%.

The club bang on about sustainability, this is not sustainable.

It’s not about promotion or 15th, it’s about being stick with players we can’t get rid of for years, it’s about not paying stupid wages to 1 or 2 players so that when others come up to renewal we either lose them or have to pay a shed load more, it’s about not wanting to see the club financially implode again.

Add to the mix that we’re going to be paying again for ER in 4 months time and it’s clear that we either need to go up, be sold, or be prepared to sell off key players of value.

they can’t necessarily coach their talent to other players, that’s an inherent ability all they can do is guide on the process that they took to get there.

Well this all got lively ………

At the risk of splinters I can see both points.

On balance i'm happy we've got him signed up for another 2 years.

Just need Berardi next ………….

All this arguing about the club and the way its run is odd!..

When it comes to it I cant see Leeds paying more rent for Elland Road than they were before it was taken back, and when they pay rent, is it not to a company that'll if things are right will reinvest that money somehow?..

Surely paying rent to AR's company is better than what Sheffield, Derby or Villa have done?..

If not than we can moan, but, at this moment I see no reasons to do so!..

The in fighting on these boards is laughable in the fact that nobody here knows exactly what's what behind the scenes and have "no" idea as to what is happening, the club is running more like a football club than it was 2 years ago but looking around these boards you'd think some are waiting to get Nuked!..

Hopefully China are looking more at Trump then these boards!..

Why would we not be paying more than we were 33 months ago?

We certainly won’t be paying less, it’s another million or two of costs.

As much as I like Pablo and still think he will be key for us providing he can stay fit enough this season, these long deals seem to mask the fact we are a bit short going into Jan.

Imagine if we brought a Freeman type playmaker into this squad, that's the level of quality I think we need playing regular to get over the line.

So let me get this right Germany, AR buys ER with a separate company and you feel that the rent. Leeds United will pay to this separate company will be reinvested back into Leeds United?

I think what’s most disappointing is hearing Kinnear in doc say how we’re not d cking around with play offs, yet then we sell sell sell, buy no one, then start saying Jan not good time to do business and none of these are signs that match up with kinnears words.

Summer was trying to build competitive side on the cheap.

I love that Jonty thinks he knows that the club will be paying rent on Elland road in a few months time.

This is like when he was moaning we let Phillips run into the last year of his contract.

What an outlook on life.... Moan, Moan, Moan & if there's nothing to moan about, make something up.

Just seen comments before I logged in.

Won’t bother with Kamara’s demented drivel but will address faiths point.

Nothing is made up.

“The accounts reveal that Leeds entered a lease agreement with Greenfield to June 2032 and were given an “initial rent-free period” of 33 months. Annual rent of Elland Road previously cost the club around £1.7m and increased every 12 months.”

No need to apologise faith, I won’t be reading your comments.

Interesting to note in fact how much wages have risen from 20 mill to 31mill in those accounts and nowvyi 40 mill.

That’s 100% increase in 2 years.

Yes and we are now competing at the top end of the table rather than mid table...…..common logic

Jonty, you know so tell us why AR would rip one arm off to give to the other, I don't think Leeds will be paying more for Elland Road than they did to that Manchester bod!..

And the investment, paying rent to a company that owns your ground is as normal as breathing,(they have to make their books look in order!)and is it against any rules for a company to take rent but not reinvest?..

AR wants Premiership football, if that was to help I'd think he knows it!..

I asked is rent not better than what Sheffield, Derby or Villa have done?..

Obviously not eh?..

But I ain't got any idea as far as brass goes,(if I had life wouldn't be the crap it is!)but looking at this we're no worst of than most in the Championship, no doubt you've more then likely already seen this, but some won't have!..

http://financialfootballnews.com/championship-2018-finances-revenue/

Premiership clubs earn according to that 7x's more then Championship clubs, I think Bates and Cellino knew that too!..

Trying to compare leeds with other clubs doesn’t change the leeds situation. I do however think that the EFL will be looking at our situation and I hate it when fans attack other clubs for stadium deals when ours could well come back and bite us on the bum.

The club will be paying rent to a separate company. Last time we paid rent over 2 years ago it was 1.7 mill I fully expect it to be the same now or higher.

Once that company has the rent, what do you think they are going to do with it, donate it back to Leeds United?

Keen to understand how you think AR is going to re-invest that back into Leeds United.

As it stands it’s an additional cost on top of our already very high admin costs that caused us to report a loss last time around and caused us to have to sell 30 mill or so of players this summer.

This thread is a classic case of why this site is sliding down hill at a severe rate of knots.

Some of the directed personal vitriol is totally bemusing.

Whatever happened to the concept of healthy debate?

To be fair, when you hear the:

So would you rather have Bates/Cellino/Heck/Rachubka type arguments, the thread is over.

& the OP was about Pablo & we’ve somehow veered onto the state of the club .... 😳😳

It’s actually one of the highlights of this site. Politics, Brexit & everyday life just seem so easy after 10 mins on here. 😀

talking about the reasons why he was offered 2 year deal IS the discuss bit.

All entitled to our opinions, I can see points for against what Jonty is saying.

If we get promoted, will we be a Villa/Fulham and spend big, give it a go or a Norwich/Sheff Utd and spend a low amount to not upset the applecart or bank manager.

This site should all about debate and the points raised are valid and worth debating.sadly constructive debate is taken as moaning or some kind of agenda.we can all stick our fingers in our ears and drown out voices and options we don't like but doesn't mean they are not valid or worth discussing. It is not hard to focus on the issues and avoid getting personal.
