Will definitely be picking it up, looks like a Star Wars universe mash up between Uncharted and Dark Souls, which can only be a good thing!

Yeah me too- that combo sounds excellent. Apparently it's very dark souls like, and that is a bloody good thing.

I'm wary of buying full price though, however excited I am to play it.

Always feel like that with single player campaign games, more so if they're not fully open world. How long do you think the story is?

Are there any other game modes to dip into once you finish, or if you just have 30 mins spare to play and don't want to go into the campaign?

I'll pick it up when there's some pre-owned cheaper copies around.

Ive probably played 10 hours plus and would wager im half way in? Not really sure. with cutscenes etc I would wager 20 hours on a speedrun.

Not sure about non campaign, I don't believe so.

on PC gamer:

"I completed it in 17 hours with minimal amounts of side exploration. If you want to hunt down every secret and customisation reward it's likely to take 25 hours or so."

Really wish I enjoyed Star Wars. I've tried, movies and games. Strange considering I love fantasy in general.

I think, or was the case for me, you have to watch it when younger. I grew up watching the originals on vhs and then the sequel/prequels came out when I was a kid.

That's probably very true. I grew up watching things like Commando, Rambo, Karate Kid, Beastmaster, Conan, Red Dawn, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, etc...

I get very jealous of the love affair people seem to have with the franchise. It's okay though, I found Battlestar Galactica

Yeah I never watched battlestar...or star trek...or doctor who.
Mostly just star wars and LOTR's as fantasy stuff. Then Game of thrones...but t!ts and wine and all that

You should give it a go. It's pretty fcking good.

I tried watching the first episode. Couldn't get into it. Is it just battlestar because aren't there a couple spin off type things? What should I start at.

Of course start with the 2 part mini series(pilot)

Seriously though, if it doesn't catch you after 6 episodes maybe it's just not for you. I still consider it one of the best ever series. And I watch a shlt ton of tv.

I’ll check it out. Nice one.

Didn't want to spend money on a hack and slash game but as a huge star wars fan I was interested in the environment, story and lore so downloaded it through a news server. It does feel as if it's a generic action game with a Star Wars skin at times, but I'll probably finish it at some point.

Hack and slash games are great, dark souls is amazing. I'm the sane with CoD and shooters can't stand them really, this looks great though..

CoD games are just as bad as hack and slash imo. I just find it one dimensional, regardless of how 'complex' it seems. For instance in wow I only play ranged classes and healers.

Yes, that implies to CoD and the other generic games in the same mold. So we agree.

I think with cod Atleast when u play it it’s only as one dimensional as you make it. The more u improve the more rewarding the game is (online) it’s a challenge to get a positive k/d ratio. Then it’s good to have a strong k/d. Then when you start winning games it’s like u dictate the game.

Dunno, they are pretty one dimensional to me. Well executed though.

Getting a positive kill/death ratio is not adding to the dimension. Inherently the gameplay is one dimensional since it lacks gameplay layers. Simply put it's not overly complicated. Shoot and kill or die while you are in or run for cover and take key points. It's the basic concept of what Quake was.

I even prefer the oldschool Counterstrike gamestyle where you have good recoil and need to understand the weapons. The feeling of getting a headshot with an AK47 from great distance with precise aiming and burst shooting gives way more satisfaction than spraying. Was never a fan of the sniper and camping tactics though.
