Why not just play Luiz in midfield?

Sorry... Chambers. It's one of those days.

"With Xhaka expected to remain out of the picture...."

I expect him back to be honest. Hope Emery learnt something about Torreira. He is a DM and not an attacking mid. As I said....I hope

And the Torreira drum....

Our first win bigger than a 1 goal margin

Hopefully we just play the best team possible vs Southampton.

Imo

Leno
Bellerin Holding Luiz Tierney
Torriera Guendouzi/Xhaka
Pepe Ozil Aubameyang
Lacazette

This will be an interesting game. We're not always great after an interlull but I'm hopeful that having the majority of our players around will have helped. But the cynicism in me thinks we'd get a draw at best. Maybe that's what I'm hoping for just to have a bit more pressure piled on Emery...

Seriously think we've now seen of, and know enough about Emery to realise he won't be sending out a side with instruction to attack S'hampton with any zeal. He'll be tactically cagey, and we'll have nothing more than a single-goal lead for any great amount of time during the match.

The match has late equaliser from some player that hasn't scored in over a year written all over it. Stats wise, Saints will probably be well worth their point(s).

but Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Chambers, Holding and Tierney all stayed at home. so hopefully they did a lot of work together.

This one made me laugh. Like it'd matter whether or not they have.

I'll see a 1-1 draw.

We are currently 3 pts ahead of Spurs who sit nicely in 14th position. If they were to win (not totally impossible with Jose) and we lose (not totally impossible with Emery), then tehy would move above us, thanks to a better GD.

I was looking forward to the weekend.... not anymore.

Mourinho is a better manager than Emery.

Spurs will finish above us

Along the lines of what I'm thinking... :/

Think even Emery must realise now that he has to go for it. He has nothing to lose.

I think its pretty obvious to him that he has already almost lost it. Or do you think its usual for directors to issue statements of confidence?

We have an owner who, based on his other clubs, isn't interested in winning. So while there is a precedent that says a manager is on borrowed time following public backing and while I would be happy to see a new manager come in, I'm just not sure this club has the stones to do it.

Not sure what you mean? The Rams got to the superbowl last season. Very big accolade in the US. And his other teams are doing ok.

If you mean that he isn't a oil sheik or russian oligarch? I am happy about that. He has been investing a net 90m-100m last three seasons so that not bad.

One team out of how many that he owns having a resurgence in the last two years after him being an owner for how many years? He bought a 30% stake in 2005 and in that time (14 years), they've only made the Superbowl... what... 4 times?

The Denver Nuggets. He bought them in 2000 and they regularly have finished anywhere from 2nd to 14th. Where they have made the playoffs, they typically leave that post-season competition after the very first round.

Similar with the Colorao Avalanche.

Feel free to check the rest but the trend is that his teams do okay but do not WIN. Which was my comment so I'm not sure what you're confused about.
