This isn't news to anyone who knows what Levy is like. We know it's going to be another disappointing transfer window. Levy is a con artist. Probably promised Jose funds but will now pull the rug from under his feet with little backing. It's what he does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that wouldn't benefit Levy at all. Telling Jose that he can spend then afterwards telling him he can't.

Levy NEEDS Jose to succeed otherwise sacking Poch and then having to let Jose go too would be disastrous. If he was promised funds, then he will get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you're saying it would a bad decision for him to do that? Sounds exactly the sort of thing he'd do then.

oh absolutely. it was a massive risk that has split the fans... and the only way to reunite the club is for Jose to be a undoubted success...

i am quietly confident eriksen will step up under Jose
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine he wanted to leave us because he didn't believe we'd win any trophies. I suppose with Mourinho and his CV it might give one or two of the underperforming ones belief we can win something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a good point and Im not a Jose fan. (Cant stand him to be honest)
Only thing is not wumming but the only realistic trophy this season is the FA Cup so if Eriksen believes he may win a trophy under Jose he may very well have to sign on for at least another year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CL a slight possibility I suppose if Mourinho is still up for it. If he won the CL with us this season people would quickly stop complaining about him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Overnight he would arguably become your greatest ever manager.
Football fans are the most fickle folk out there mate.
Not saying you cant of course but the FA looks a brighter prospect this season but who knows?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree Irish

Media sheite stirring. Does anyone seriously believe José took the job with no discussion about planned budgets? Or that Levy would appoint him on the Wednesday then tell him on the Thursday there’s no money to spend? This isn’t how business works; the media just appeal to people’s sense of outrage and a percentage fall for it every time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ahhh, some common sense being applied. music to my ears
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What I think has likely happened is that Mourinho has had budget discussions with Levy and it’s been agreed that due to the large outlay in the summer, Spurs will not be in a position to make big money signings in January, which isn’t a great window for doing business. Mourinho has been given a clear remit to get into the top 4 with the squad that he has and he has accepted that as a realistic aim. That’s why he’s making a point to talk up the current squad so much - even though he knows it needs investment.

The battle will come in the summer when Mourinhos idea of investment will be pitted against Levy’s ideas for investment. That of course will be dictated by CL football. If Mourinho gets this, he will be hoping for a war chest and I’m sure that’s what levy has told him

there are reports that jose was caught mouthing to one of his assistants (about Tanganga) - keep your eye on him, he has marked Cristiano Ronaldo...

anyone remember how he did up against Ronaldo in the audi cup game v juve?

there are also reports that Jose don't rate Sanchez, so we might see Tanganga promoted sooner than expected...

who knows.

He patted Kanes back and touched Lo Celso's neck.
These players will clearly die for him now.

I’m pretty sure tanganga played as a LCB and Ronaldo was on the Left for Juventus so I don’t think they was directly against each other.

Sanchez was the CB Jose targeted in the Europa final

Jose at Spurs will be an interesting and intriguing watch for a neutral like me.
Will he rediscover the old Jose mojo and herald in a new era of trophy winning. If you like an Indian summer in his later years?
Or will it all go belly up and could very well be the last curtain for a faded superstar. Assuming he stays 3 years and wins nothing by which stage he would be almost 60.

Jose has apparently been doing his homework on this Spurs side for ages. That’s what a serial winner does that’s main focus is to bring success to a club. A manager that is looking at the tactical aspect from the inside out. He is so far tactically superior to Poch and it will be noticeable on match days.

Spurs are interested in Luis Campos the lille sporting director.

Campos has a good track record when he was at Monaco with players like Martial, Mbappe, B Silva, Mendy, Fabinho, Lemar and James Rodriguez.

He also sold Pepe to Arsenal.

This will be music to the ears of Ebenezer Scrooge the greedy bald caant.
