I use my to turn on and off lights, tv, tell em the weather, listen to music, play quizzes with the kids... Alexa that is not the google one but to get additional features you may need to buy additional items

I have 4 in my house, some of my most common uses are...

All my lights and household sockets are controlled by it, I say good morning and the house powers on, when I leave I tell it i'm going out and it all powers off.

Tell it to play youtube videos or netflix if you have a chromecast or cast enabled tv.

Ask it to remind you to do things like pick the kids up from school everyday (yeah I actually need that reminder) and set timers and alarms.

You can use it to call people or find your phone it it's lost.

I use it to help me sleep every night, by asking it to play different ambient sounds for a specific amount of time, thunderstorm is my favourite.

Why not use it to research items before you buy them ?
You know , to see what they do before buying them and then you can decide if they are worth buying or not !!
Plus when they arrive you will have a fair idea of they actually do
