I would love my boss to give me a million pounds every year, but my job wouldn't last 5 minutes on those figures. The same as Corbyn is proposing, intelligent people know that short term it may be lovely but its simply unsustainable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it unsustainable? Apart from the 4 day work week the other policies aren’t that radical?

You got figures to show this isn’t possible?

Some other policies:

-100k extra council houses a year
- Eradicate food banks in 3 years

The low income workers should be all over labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And people who like me who work 55/60 hours a week to earn more money should be very wary!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Labour tax plan is to increase tax for people who earn over 80k. So make people who are seeming over 80k to pay a few k extra Dosent sound unreasonable?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you put loads of hours in to achieve that wage, why should you pay a higher rate of tax for that money.

I've no problem with paying tax but would not be happy paying a higher level of tax because I put more time in.

Currently 80k is taxed at 40 percent. Labour want to tax at 45%. So someone earning 80k will pay c.1.5k extra tax. I doubt paying extra 1.5k will hurt them?

Someone earning 125k will pay around 2.5k extra tax a year. If I earned 125k a year I would happily pay extra 2.5k extra to try and help the poor people.

This all seems reasonable to me.

The “Workington Man” voting for Boris and his old Etonian chums is like Turkeys voting for Christmas. This lot couldn’t care less about the working classes, but unfortunately this GE is only about Brexit and my guess is the public think Brexit will happen sooner under Boris than under Corbyn.

You need money to enjoy life, I have plans I'd like to put in place so I can live a comfortable life when I retire.

But you're missing the essential point of why someone should put the work in only to be financially penalised for it. May as well not bother and the country can sing for the tax it would have received!

I'm not really much of a fan of his policies, and I'm unlikely going to vote for them, but the reason Labour are not ahead in the polls is because of the media bias.

But you're being taxed a small amount on a larger wage. It's not like you're all of a sudden only earning the equivalent of 40k.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This. Their proposing small tax increases which will mean the lower paid will have more disposable income which they can spend on luxuries. Win Win.

I don't have too much of a problem with any of their polices tbh, I just think collectively together it is too much.

I also don't like their method of nationalising - to me it would scare of investment.

I like the idea of moving to the left, but more towards a nordic model which embarrasses the free market.

You now bring us nicely on to the next flaw in the plan.

What do you think business is going to do to recoup their losses (that's if they don't wind up their UK operations), they'll lay many of those lower wage earners off and deprive them of an income totally and increase their prices, so those luxuries you speak of become more expensive.

I've lived through enough Labour Governments to know how this works and those previous incarnations didn't have as such grandiose plans as Jeremy has hatched!!

And you still don't get your head around the fact that if I decide it's not worth me working those extra hours, the country is actually being deprived of the tax I would have paid!

Because the average Joe is uneducated and unaware of what's happening, and only source of any knowledge they have comes from the Daily Fail, is the reason why we all stupidly vote for the Tories who at their heart are there to help the rich, not the average Joe.

Time and again, the mass votes for people who introduced austerity and things like bedroom tax, universal credit and who though hoops let Google and the likes who are making enormous profits get away with paying around 1% tax!

Unfortunately, the poor are gullible and forgetful. Like a fish in a bowl, they keep making the same mistakes over and over, by voting and believing the Tories.

I mean this is the Boris who lied about the £320millions he said being paid to EU every week?
The same Boris who lied even knowing that woman he had an affair with and helping her secure high levels of loans??
How dumb can you get!

In the first week of the election the Conservatives have received 5.6m in donations, that’s 86% of contributions across all parties. A large proportion of this is being spent on a campaign of spreading misinformation. So far the Conservatives are the only party being presented with generally favourable reviews across the national press.

People can vote for whoever they want, but there’s more 5hite being printed than transfer silly season at the moment.

If there was some credibility behind his plan then I am sure he would have more support. But his huge spending plan will be supposedly funded by the highest earners and big business. They would happily move away if he got into power. Then where exactly is the money coming from?

A huge spending spree when we have Brexit, trade wars and slowing global growth seems naive. To base it all on increased tax from companies/individuals who would leave the country is fantasy stuff.
