Some other policies:
-100k extra council houses a year
- Eradicate food banks in 3 years
The low income workers should be all over labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And people who like me who work 55/60 hours a week to earn more money should be very wary!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You earn more, you should pay more. No issue with that at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In proportion obviously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you earn more, you already pay more because it's percentage based. Never understood why people say 'if you earn more you should pay more' when you already do!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the point not that lower income people generally pay more of a percentage of their earning than those at the other end though 🤔

I think Corbyn's motives come from a good place, and agree there is too large an inequality gap. However, he fundamentally does not understand economics and if that manifesto were to be carried out we would be in turmoil.
In my opinion he should be running a far left party, not the only realistic alternative to the conservatives. I would happily vote Labour if they had a centre left leader as I would love to see Boris and chums ousted. But unfortunately Corbyn is the reason I won't vote for them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If (big if) the Cons get a majority then I can see a split in the Labour party. The NEC, Momentum, unions and most members will want another proper lefty leader whereas the centre left will see it as a failed experiment.
Interesting times ahead.

I don't see the Tories getting a majority but I do see Labour losing a fair few seats to the Brexit Party in this election.
As someone who works with investments, a lot of my money is cash right now and I believe many investors like me are waiting on the outcome of this result. If Corbyn gets in there will be less investment in UK equities from my side and considerably more if the Conservatives get in.
Now I'm not saying I agree with the Conservatives policies etc but what we look at is what will suit our investments and a Corbyn government to us seems very dangerous for growth potential
Can't vote for the Tories. Especially with the current lot in charge.

Labour’s manifesto probably reads like a sacred text for a communist’s dream.
Daddy government will take care of everyone.

Not a hand up but a hand out.
Everything will be free.
Absolutely disgusting. I will feel for the state of your country if that Jew-hating, ISIS sympathizing sleezeball makes it into power.

Unless someone can back up that claim that JC hates Jews (still never seen real evidence of this) and that he somehow supports ISIS.
See it bothers me that many in the UK somehow think JC loves terrorists cause he had dialogie with the RA back in the day, of course this dialogue was a stepping stone to the GFA being signed but sure ignore that he helped bring in the most sustained ero of peace in NI cause ya know he loves the Ra and all.

Along with dialogue with the British government it helped bring the provisionals to the negotiating table.
Branding JC as a terrorist sympathiser has been a very successful tactic for his opponents which I don't see changing any time soon.

I thought he was a fully paid up member of the Antrim flying brigade
This country can't be helped, honestly. Even the US has a nationalised mail service.
You pay more to nationalise a few industries upfront and then these profitable industries start to pay for themselves, and also generate enough money to reinvest in their struggling infrastructure instead of funding shareholders. Complaining about the cost of nationalisation is such ridiculous short term thinking.
If any of you have children, are you not bowled over by the green deal or lack of tuition fees? That's proper long term investment in this country, not the type that is just to benefit a 5 year parliament, but real investment in the country.
This is about social justice, this is about addressing the underlying causes that led to Brexit and if I'm very honest, the only sense in which this manifesto is truly radical is in the green deal sense - everything else is commonplace in other OECD nations but we're for some reason too undeserving to have it in this rich nation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst his involvement was nominal, (as noted backbench MP at the time) and his supporters inflate his contribution - he spoke to the provo army council trying to encourage dialog with ‘the brits’
Comment deleted by Site Moderator
JC was one of the first MP's to understand that dialogue was the only way to resolve the troubles in NI, his actions of openly speaking to memeber of the Ra council was a stepping stone to bringing all parties to the table and the ultimate result was the GFA.
Not saying he made it happen, but his actions were certainly part of it.
It says an awful lot that the biggest attacks on JC are based on this notion of him being a "terrorist sympathizer".
I can see why people might not like JC, but anyone who thinks the TOries are a better option because they don't like JC (or believe what is written in some circles) is deluded.
Alos Tories have been in power for 9 years, can anyone honestly say the UK has improved in the past 9 years?
Or has it become more divided than ever?

Unless someone can back up that claim that JC hates Jews (still never seen real evidence of this) and that he somehow supports ISIS.
See it bothers me that many in the UK somehow think JC loves terrorists cause he had dialogie with the RA back in the day, of course this dialogue was a stepping stone to the GFA being signed but sure ignore that he helped bring in the most sustained ero of peace in NI cause ya know he loves the Ra and all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be interested to understand how his dialogue was a stepping stone to the GFA, be an interesting insight, care to elaborate?
I won't make comments on antisemitism within the Labour party, all I can say is there are several long standing Labour party members which have left the party because of its failure to tackle issues of anti-antisemitism within the party.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with dialogue with the British government it helped bring the provisionals to the negotiating table.
Branding JC as a terrorist sympathiser has been a very successful tactic for his opponents which I don't see changing any time soon.

No no, I'm not branding JC as anything here.
I'm asking HOW he helped bring about the GFA. You clearly know more than I do I'm using this as an opportunity to learn so answer the question.
What did he do to bring the provos to the table?

Whilst his involvement was nominal, (as noted backbench MP at the time) and his supporters inflate his contribution - he spoke to the provo army council trying to encourage dialog with ‘the brits’
