I guess the fact we were getting battered towards the end and Leno pulled off an incredible save to keep us in it, it’s a decent point.
Feel like it's a missed opportunity due to his team selection, we could have taken 3 points from that game.
Freddie to be in charge v Brighton
We were lucky not to lose in the end, just Torriera and Leno stopping us. Chambers, mustafi and xhaka doing their best to gift goals. This likes of xhaka and mustafi are hopeless now, they shouldn’t be starting again. I know we had some injuries, but I hope Freddie doesn’t give them game time in the future
Some promising signs in the first half, apart from the brain dead defending. But in the second we really couldn’t step it up, and couldn’t get any passes together. Maybe they was some tiredness as well.
Really hoping for a much better performance against Brighton once Freddie has had a chance with the team. We missed having decent fall backs as well today, so hoping with a few players back we’ll look a bit better
Have not posted in a while, this whole thing is crazy. We should never have sacked Emery this close to a window! We are not that sort of club! Do not get me wrong I would have supported his sacking cone the summer if we finished like we did last term,
All this does is ensure we do not spend/ change in January! It wasn’t the players it was a manager who couldn’t get the potential out of players! Nonsense. Emery dropped Xhaka, Toreira* was dropped.. both likely to be sold in janz = hope we might replace.
Now, freddie will be given time even though we all know it is just a s*** team!! Emery wasn’t great, last season’s finish was atrocious, but he didn’t deserve that thanks to an inherently S*** team.
Chambers was our worst player. Mustafi not far behind.
Some decent signs in the first half but the likes of Mustafi and Xhaka really are going to drag this team down, beyond poor.
Mustafi was worse than Chambers
We have known the likes of Xhaka and Mustafi we’re bringing us down for years! Might be harsh and yes a bit of a scapegoat but we haven’t been in the top four since Xhaka arrived!
How did Xhaka get to play for a club like Arsenal?

No, Emery had to go, he was making the team even worse with his management style and his only tactics being to try and setup to counter the opposition.
Even though Freddie picked the wrong team and messed up the substitutions waiting too long and subbing the wrong players it was still a more positive performance than anything we've seen under Emery in a long time.
Controversially I think Mustafi and Xhaka could be decent players if we set ourselves up correctly - we are too gung ho, our players shouldn't push up so far that we are so exposed to counter attacks, that's just playing into our opponents hands

Wow, can't believe how differently some fans can think to me.
Kola played well for a change.
Mustafi & Xhaka ain't ever gonna be decent players for any side who wants to win titles, let alone one that has top four ambitions.
Sorry to break it to you darling.

Ok, I'm not going to get into an argument with you about this but I have to respectfully disagree. They could be decent players for mid-table teams at best in my opinion.

I would love to watch him in training because he must be one of those players that look immense in trying but can’t convert that performance on a match day. Only reason as to why he keeps getting picked.
to be fair I'm probably fighting the wrong battle here I agree they aren't good enough for a team with the ambitions of champions league football and have had enough opportunities to prove themselves and they should be replaced at the next opportunity

I originally thought he was a brilliant buy! He was bought in shortly after we list to Leicester.. now we all know that season we were the team who should have won, but cone January we fell to pieces.
Only this year, we had a fantastic midfield of Cazorla and Coquelin. Injury free they were fantastic, but too predictably they both got injured.
Xhaka combined the traits of both, theoretically. He was a defensive/ holding kid who could put in a good tackle and track opponents, yet he had vision and a good left foot. He blended both cazorla and Coquelin!
Yep, didn’t turn out that way did it.

We lost on Thursday
You look at City’s Fernandinho, KDB , Rodri and Gundughan and you think of our midfield.
If you we do not spend good money to drastically improve our personnel in that area, we will be firing the next permanent coach soon enough.

Yea, but with modern football players you are always going to see that pike in performance when they get there way... if we believe that both our strikers would have refused to sign contract extensions.
That means that despite the jump in player satisfaction, all Freddie achieve was, as you said, ‘ the wrong team and messed up the substitutions waiting too long and subbing the wrong players’
He is out of his depth and this will not end well.
