Think it’s safe to say it was pretty obvious those players were going to be great from the off.

He’s a great manager. So is Guardiola. Both ourselves and Liverpool are very lucky to have who we have. In both cases, when either of them leave, it will be them that decide it rather than the clubs as it has been for them at previous clubs, which isn’t the case for any others I can think of.

Those players like Xavi, Puyol and Iniesta debuted when van Gaal and Rexach were managers. Xavi and Puyol debuted in 1998 and 1999 and Iniesta 2002.
10 years before Pep became manager. You are clueless or too young to remember this. I remember those players playing at Anfield when Van Gaal was manager in the Eufa cup.
