Rodgers to sign new contract with Leicester

That's one of the higher quality threads on this forum. I posted 'It's a pity that you've given up on your season tickets too, a move that may prove to be an overreaction and one you may regret in due course'.

I wonder if he has any regrets as just two years later we are decidedly more Guardiola than Grimsby. I suppose on the positive side he didn't have to put up with more than a year of Puelball in the intervening period!

Returning to the main thread, five and a half year contract! That's... wow, that's long. Demonstrates both a great deal of faith in his abilities by the board and will of course be very expensive to buy out for anyone else who wants him. I mean, not impossible, but they'd have to really want him...

What a brilliantly worded press release. A manger willing to work in a club structure, and a club thriving under his leadership on the playing side.

What a lovely fit.

More Barcelona than Bury.

Fantastic news. What a wonderful time to be a Leicester supporter. Such an exciting future.

The future is bright, the future is blue and white....

.... unless you’re JG who’s off supporting Grimsby right now.

Another big long contract to pay out lol.

Don't worry Hafi, you have the money.

No just saying when they sack him.

You mean when Man Utd come calling and throw money at us like they did with Maguire.

How deep into 9 figures do you think you'll go for Maddison in the summer?

The same with Ole when the time eventually comes.

Aren’t Man U funny these days operating in the shadows or their great rivals Liverpool and City.... and the might Leicester City 😂😂😂

Yeah delighted, but I don’t expect him to see out this contract. If he succeeds long term then he’ll be off in a season or two. If he doesn’t (and he does have a history of falling away) then we’ll have to pay a fortune. But yes I’m pleased

Yeah mighty Leicester City since getting promoted have beaten Man Utd once in twelve meetings and it was the first one of them when they scored with all 5 shots on target that should have been disallowed.

I wish Man Utd could be as efficient as Leicester City though. Efficiency is king in football and Leicester City one of the best and Man Utd one of the worst this season. Shows you how far away we are. Main reason Rodgers is looking great as the efficiency is so high.

I think we should put £125m price on Maddison’s head in the summer.

Manchester United will go: “no, no, no, no, no, ..... er .... go on then ... but you only get £100m up front”

Leicester City are scoring a goal every 6.11 shots and conceding a goal every 15.66 shots.

Man Utd are scoring a goal every 9.27 shots and conceding a goal every 8.06 shots. Both Man Utd and Leicester City have near the same shots for and against stat and Man Utd have higher expected goals for and lower expected goals against stat and higher expected points stat than Leicester City this season but efficiency is king. Man Utd near worst, Leicester City the best.

Leicester City near +17GD better off than expected and Man Utd near -7GD worse off so 24 goal swing in efficiency.

I think last time were this efficient as Leicester City was Conte Chelsea title winning side.
