The double edge sword is that it is still an attractive job, but to take it you would want concrete guarantees that your not going to be sacked if things go sour in first six months... likely because the previous two managers left us in dire straights!

Marco Silva. That’s pretty much the level you’re now at. The idea you could have ever got Rodgers is hilarious

we need a sadomasochist. someone like Simeone would probably take it if it meant he could physically abuse the players in training

This is exactly who we need. A coach who knows how to get teams playing isn’t enough. We need someone who has the players by their balls. Simeone has spent a long time at Atletico now to have over seen them being pathetic in comparison to Barca and Madrid to a team to be feared. I think he’s the only guy who would stand around for a long time as well, something Klopp had done at Dortmund and is doing at Liverpool.

You say that, but a job at a club as big as Arsenal only usually becomes available if the previous manager has left them in trouble or if there are problems at board level.

There will be plenty of good ambitious managers that would jump at the opportunity.

I hope that’s true. But hard to see any good hope for now.

What....nah...I doubt any manager would care. The payoff when you get sacked is amazing!!

Honestly does it matter? This wont be fixed by any manager any time soon.

No established manager is going to want to go to a club that have hounded out their last two managers (one of whom possibly being their greatest manager of all time), boo their own players to tears, and have as much work as Arsenal will need. It is entirely an unattractive proposition.

Take a chance on someone like Howe. That is the sort of manager you are going to have to go for. Ancelotti and Allegri? No way. Rodgers? Out of your league. Even Nuno at Wolves is at a club that, to me at least, looks a more attractive proposition. Arsenal have been put in this position by poor ownership but also entitled fans who mean any established coach won't put themselves through the trauma.

Allegri wants the United job, according to rumours. Arsenal's issues are quite similar to United’s minus the toxic fan base. Poor running of the club by owners and recruitment. No planning for when a legend leaves. Incompetent people with no knowledge of football overruling the manager or over indulging the manager. Flipfloping on what they want.

I mean how many of your signings under Emery have been any good?
