For some. reason that I can not describe, I have always liked Villa.

I remember the commercial on TV after they won the EL.It was a guy walking into the bar!

I also don’t mind Villa. Weird isn’t it.

Little cheeky rotations would be good. Wouldn’t mind any of Justin, Nacho, Gray, Praet or Fuchs getting game time. Obviously not all of them though.

Think we’ll start 4-1-4-1 against a fairly expansive Villa team. Let’s hope we and Vardy can keep the run going 👍

Always like Villa as a club, but that apart we have great opportunity to put some space between us and rest of top4.
Results today have gone for us,and we have chance to cement our place in second.
Won't be easy,and think it may be a draw,hope not but wouldn't be a disaster .
Hopefully then the press will stop asking if Man city can catch Liverpool, and see us as the only real threat.

There's a few links between us, most notably managers of the past. Bit of a friendly rivalry as your were.

Something does stand out though, didnt we get done 5-0 once? Was that under PT? Can't remember exactly.

The way Villa play should suit our game plan, with them being at home may also help. Im looking forward to an expansive match and plenty of goals. Take Grielish out of the equation and we win comfortably

I don’t think anything unusual will be tried with the starting 11 today. As much as anything, it’s a solid sort of formation and Rodgers is comfortable making adjustments for the second half. For me, Praet didn’t excel enough midweek to start today, while Gray’s still coming back from injury/illness/whatever it was. There’s an outside possibility that Albrighton might get a start in place of one of the wingers, but I can’t shake the feeling that Rodgers doesn’t fancy him.

As for Villa, my impression of them is their biggest challenge this season has been balancing out attack and defence - they’ve struggled to do both well at once. They’re also apparently stronger in the first half than the second, opposite to us. So I think the important thing is to make sure they don’t get a run on us in the first half. Going in level would probably be a positive for us.

Does Brian Little still live in Barrow?

Yeah we did but Adams was manager then, that was our last season in the PL before our journey our trajectory took a massive slump.

I do remember us beating them 5-0 in 1984 though, it's one of the first games I actually remember.

Speaking of Albrighton, be nice for him to score.....

Think today will either be
1-1 or 2-4

Yes, that was it. It was early on in the season. We did score a bag full of goals that season but conceded 2 bags full
