Shocking.

Pretty shocking how much abuse Sterling gets on that thread from United fans too.

The identity of the racist fan has been leaked all over twitter.

Hope they are forced to pay a hefty fine along with their ban.

Apologies mean shizzle when they don't mean it.

Gary Neville just had a crack at Boris in Saturday Night Football for fuelling racism

Let's not kid ourselves on, ALL clubs have racist fuds, it's how the FA and Police deal with it that matters, I get as upset as anyone when a team I follow is losing but have NEVER felt like dropping to the level of a fcking racist idiot?

Because you're not racist.

Only a racist would resort to that.

Because at the end of the day, it's all they know.

Well done to City for dealing with it swiftly.

Pity they wouldn't do anything about the odd Munich gesture you always see at the Etihad as well.

Good comment but admit you made up the bit about the Munich gestures.

Finally the rest of the league realises Cityare a horrible club.

there needs to be a level of self policing by the decent fans if its gonna be stamped out... soo many bystanders see what happen but dont point out to the stewards and police. so what if you get called a grass. its only way to stop it

Not your fault PPLF or City's. We all have them and your club is handling it well.

Why would I make something like that up?

I seen it clear as day right beside the away end just after full-time.

Sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear.

To be fair, I have seen people ejected (and some banned) for exactly that.

Football brings the best and worst out of people. Hope they get banned for life.

On a side note, well played united, you were superb in the first thirty minutes. I thought we played well too, which contributed to a great game.

I haven't seen you as ragged and pulled about as much as you were in the opening half hour for a long time but you had your moments too.

Feared the worst when you got one. Had you got the goal sooner I'd imagine the result would've been different but we defended pretty well for the most part which was pleasing because up until today I wasn't seeing the improvement I'd hoped for at the back.

I thought you fully deserved the win, great counter attacking play followed by great defending. We did need to score sooner and probably should have done, but that sums us up this season.

I have my feelings why we struggled which I imagine won’t be popular with some other city fans. For now, I’d rather concentrate on an absolutely fantastic derby though that was a joy to watch.

This kind of incident and this kind of thread always shows people up for who they are and what their intent is.

On one hand you those who are wanting this kind of stuff to happen and enjoying it when it does happen, just so they can revel in having a dig at an opposition club,

Those kind of people are no better than the people they are attacking.

On the other, you have the genuine people who want this kind of stuff eradicated from the game once and for all, and don’t care which team the perpetrators support. Those people have my utmost respect.

The twitter link, comparing this to the bus incident, belong to the first group. They are the kind of people who will excuse the behaviour of fans just because they support the same club.

I have no time for those idiots and hypocrites

It isn’t necessary AT ALL to compare or excuse any kind of behaviour that sours the game.

NONE of it is necessary
