Thoughts from the away end

Great article. Wish I could be in a United away end once, especially for a game like that.

Still buzzing this morning, we were outstanding.

Bring on Everton, more of the same please lads!

Yeah firstly a fair few of the city fans were a disgrace. Airplane gestures, racism, lighter throwing. They just can't take being beaten by the bigger club. Despite them currently being a better team they will always be in our shadow and they just can't handle it.

The players I agree AWB was terrific. Bit of a dodgy first 15-20 but after that was magnificent. Sterling gave up trying to take him on in the end. Superb defensive right back just needs to improve his attacking play. I thought Shaw played well considering he has been out for so long. Stood up to Bernardo Silva who we all know is superb. Fred and McTominay were terrific aswell. Every single one of them really deserves a mention. City created very little and really we should have walked away with a bigger winning margin going on chances alone

Completely agree with the article, very happy for the boys and Ole. I think we’re definitely still short of a few players when it comes to breaking down more defensive sides and also need a top goalscorer. Lots of positives to take from the last 2 games.

On a separate note how an earth did the ref not see the rashford penalty incident. As clear a penalty as you will see and how an earth was Kyle Walker not sent off?

Great article. I agree completely.

I admit I thought we could actually loose this derby (and Spurs game last week) and that Ole could have been in trouble this morning.

I'm keeping my faith with Ole and his kids and hoping for a positive transfer window in Jan.

Of course you did. And you would have been right to. Nobody on here would have predicted we beat Spurs and city. Everybody on here was worried, but wont admit it as they think it gives them some sort of Kudos.

Wouldnt hope for too much in Jan though. Ole wants his targets and is prepared to wait.

I still can’t fathom a Manc being given the opportunity to ref a Manchester derby. Luckily he didn’t make any worthy mistakes.

Yeah I though it was weird too it was Taylor.

Tbf I think he did a good job. Let the game flow but wasn’t too cardy.

Seems like their letting common sense prevail a bit now wit VAR too which is progress I guess.

Youd have to ask Ole about that

The game - What a performance. The lads did us proud out there. Everyone to a man gave his all. The thing that me and the lads I was with talked about - Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez - there is no chance those players either put in a shift like that nor care enough to do so. And, we can play at that level without them. I’d happily see the back of Pogba provided Real stump up the cash so it can be re-invested into a younger hungrier couple of players who actually want to play for the badge and not themselves!

Agree with every word. I'm worried about pogba coming into the set up. Lingard, Pereira, Mata may obviously be poorer players, but I know they will busy a bit for the team and move the ball quickly and not look for the glory ball all the time. I can't be sure of Pogba in this. He is really going to need to buy into the ethos.

Pogba can be the difference in those games where the Red Arrows cant get in behind

100% Ratm. Pogba is our most talented player imo. But he doesn't deserve to be in the team without the effort the guys have shown without him. I look forward to seeing him back in our team, because he does add a different dimension in terms of creativity but now he had to show it. United couldn't be doing my better without him

Lets not kid ourselves we have missed Pogbas creativity against the lesser teams. We desperately need him back as I can see us struggling again against the likes of Burnley, Everton etc. Against the better sides however I agree he needs to step it up big time

What the hell are you blabbering on about you idiot?

Anyway back to the OP, agree with most of it. On Pogba though, I think we miss him more against the lesser teams than the big guns. Rashford, Martial and James can rip teams to shreds when given space. They'll still struggle against a low block though.

He struggled against poorer teams. Let's make no mistake about it, before his injury, Pogba was quite poor and in fact a problem. He lost the ball countless times, strop all about and could not execute 5 yard passes consistently.

Fair play united deserved winners by all accounts.

I have no problems with you taking three points from us, and remember the days well where our biggest game of the season was the derby with dreams of a domestic cup final 😜

Errrrr No. That would be Ole telling us he doesnt thinknhe will get his targets in Jan and he may just do a couple of loans

But hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good whinge?

Some of you just suffer from selective amnesia, all of a sudden questioning Pogba’s ability in this system? You soon forget the Chelsea game and that run to assist the James goal? Of those ones at Arsenal when we won last season?
If you have any unbiased look at our play in this system you will appreciate Pogba more. Go back and watch the goal against spurs last season, and Rashford’s goal against Chelsea this season.
Please tell me how many tackles lingard won yesterday and how many chances he created. being busy and running after players does not affect the game in any way if you have no real tangible impact. Some of you lot are just unbelievable.
And please stop peddling this myth about Pogba not turning up in big games.

Lingard was vital in that first half yesterday.

Of course you have a problem with it. It puts the kybosh on your chances of catching Liverpool.
Of course you care about domestic cup finals, because you don't play in any other kind. And two of them featured in your treble.
Still, better to pu a brave face on it than crying.
