Not the title race expected, but it could..

I still think City can get back into the race but they need a good five or six wins on the spin to be in contention.

I have the highest regard for Brendan, we were so close to winning the PL with a far weaker side under him and he’s learnt a lot since. The main danger to us for my money.

The point here is there is a title race.

Leicester credentials are being written off like when they won the title.

Ok we beat them but since then they have won every game.

Yes these are all sides the top 4 ought to be beating week in and week out.

Is this why people are not too worried about Leicester?

Do they need to prove themselves?

They've lost to Liverpool and United I think.

We'll see by the end of December. They have City and Liverpool. Win both and its definitely a title race.

Lose both and they're probably 14 points behind and they're out.

We’ve lost to United and Liverpool both with penalties. One in the last minute against Liverpool, although they were much better than us on the day.

No Leicester fan is expecting to win the league. Hanging on to top four will be an amazing season for us.

Before the season started, I tipped Leicester to break into the top 6 based on their form at the end of last season after Rodgers took over if they could carry it into this season and also because they have a good squad. Clearly they have continued that form and from October I’ve predicted that they’ll finish in the top 4 but I didn’t expect them to be this good.

I welcome it though, as I have respect for them since their League triumph the other year and I’d still like to see Rodgers do well.

Let’s wait until the end of this month to see where the teams are before saying who’s in the title race for sure. However, Man City surely cannot afford another defeat, if they haven’t suffered too many already to still have a real chance of winning. It will be refreshing to have a title race between Liverpool and Leicester though. Definitely the best 2 teams so far in every sense.

Agreed but look at the teams you've beat but still can't beat the big boys. Not being funny but there's a bit ofa falt track bully vibe going on there.

As I said earlier, December will tell us a lot. Leicester aren't going away, they keep winning games and if they can beat the big boys then we've got a proper contest here.

We lost to Liverpool and United but as a result of two soft penalties but we beat Spurs and Arsenal and drew away at Chelsea. It's not like we haven't beaten the top teams because Spurs and Arsenal are deemed top teams, even if not so much this season.

Chelsea and United we went with two CDM's which doesn't work for us, we perhaps didn't have the confidence in our own ability to go to the Bridge and OT and play our game but Rodgers learnt after the United game and we went to Liverpool and dominated possession and gave you a tough game and as I said only lost due to a last minute penalty, you didn't play us off the park.

We're getting better and I fancy us to beat City and then Liverpool at home will be a very different challenge to you playing us at Anfield. On the other hand you still haven't played Wolves yet, they're a horrible team to play and more than capable of taking points off you and you have them twice in a month. January will be a massive month for Liverpool, I think United at home and Spurs and Wolves away, that's not easy and you could well drop points in any of those games.

To be fair you scraped by Villa and we beat them comfortably, you scraped by Palace and we beat them comfortably, you scraped by Newcastle and we beat them comfortably, you got outplayed by Brighton and we beat them comfortably and didn't even allow them a shot on target. It's not like you're smashing teams, you keep winning but not really very convincingly. Of course that's what you need in order to win the league but also it's unsustainable, you can't keep having below par performances and winning, at some point it will catch up with you and things won't go your way, as it has done with City.

There's a long way to go yet and this is far from over.

I wouldn't compare the villa teams that played our two clubs.

First we were in between games with CL, league cups etc going on.

Second mings went down injured and cost villa 2 goals probably with the chaos. I watched that game, the villa team were nowhere near the same level as against us.

Third we played adam lallana who just gave the ball away constantly

So while we scraped by, we actually dug deep and ground it out

..............................
then palace. I don't know what happened in your game with them.

For us it was after internationals where our team flew round the planet again. we were 1-0 up and we put ox in for salah and he didn't play well

Then you can add in we took foot off gas and let zaha score.

We didn't play that well but our record consistently after internationals is poor.

We drew to utd away right after international.

..................................................................................
After that its really a case of grinding through the CL and league cup season and then getting through festive period.

Once we come out of the fa cup 3rd round the whole thing opens up and we can really drive on.

Right now its 2 per week and the grinder.

Leicester don't have any such issues to manage.

Man city do. Best of luck to them, they don't look up for it.

Some good points but at the end of the day Liverpool are getting results against all sorts of teams whereas Leicester have beaten teams they would be expected to beat at the moment. They have lost on que.

Personally I can't see Leicester beating City or Liverpool. If the league started now I'd still fancy Leicester to drop more points than Liverpool. They also won't flat track bully all the smaller teams and some of them will start getting results against Leicester.

Obviously you never know. Things will be hot if Leicester beat City, with Liverpool coming back from Qatar so yeah, you never know.

I think you're perhaps underestimating how good we are, we completely dominate against the lower teams and don't give them a sniff. We've made the most amount of tackles in the league which is an indication of how hard we work and how well organised we are. I don't see any reason why we won't continue to beat the lower teams just like Liverpool are.

I wouldn't expect Liverpool to start dropping points against the dross and if I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn't be expecting us to either. We're both very good teams, very professional, full of quality, work extremely hard and you're doing what all champions do and win while not at your best and so are we. Every game I come away thinking that was alright, could have done better and still plenty of room for improvement. Even yesterday having won 4-1 we still weren't that great in my opinion and as I said I came away thinking we should have scored more and at times our passing could have been much better. But to win 4-1 and still think we can do better is a good sign. I'd rather that than us being at the top of our game every week and thinking we need to keep up this level of performance because that's not sustainable.

I think we're a better side than City right now but whether that translates into a win up there remains to be seen. Maybe we will, maybe not but if we do then yeah Boxing Day is going to be a cracker.

You are a better side than City right now, but certainly not overall. City are having a tough patch, but get everyone fit and in form they are better than you.

posted on 9/12/19

Were talking about a billion pound team and still making excuses like "when they get everyone fit" etc.

Leicesters squad is worth about a tenth of City's and you don't hear them crying about injuries and fitness.
