The Brits have this notion that having a gun makes you less safe. It's like they don't get the concept of a weapon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So if no one had guns would the world be a safer place?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You would imagine so.

I just don't like this belief in this country that you are somehow safer unarmed.

If that's the case the UK doesn't need trident.

Someone invades your home with a cricket bat and you have a cricket bat to defend yourself with, you'll likely scare them off without anyone dying.

If you both have guns someone likely gets shot.

I get that USA are so far in the hole now that if they banned guns there'd still be a huge amount on the streets illegally & that could potentially leave people vulnerable, but so many people seem to stick their head in the sand and deny there's any issue.

A female cop walked into the wrong apartment not too long ago and shot a guy watching his TV. Easy done
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was the guy talked about above watching Nascar and drinking beer through a straw with one of those hat things that Homer uses and a shotgun that could take half your body off for 'protecting his family'.

British people have been so indoctrinated against guns they would literally turn up to a gun fight with a cricket bat and think they have the advantage.

———————————————————————-

Not really, we just learned a very valuable lesson from the tragedy of Dunblane
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Brits take it too far with this nonsense that one with a gun is less safe than one without.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, the ridiculous Brits with their consideration of empirical evidence and use of common sense.

We all have the right to vote for whichever party we align with, so any vote is by definition the correct vote. It’s been enormously exaggerated how bad the Tories have been for the U.K., just like it has been exaggerated how bad Labour will be. I will vote Tory at this election. With more credible Labour leadership I might’ve gone the other way.

Wow; what a profound and logically watertight argument that is.

Trident is critical. If the Ukraine had trident they’d still have the Crimea.

Every vote is not the right vote. You vote for a reason. That reason is based on what you think is best for you, your family, the country as a hole etc. If that turns out not to be true, then your vote was the wrong one.

So the vote is the right one, but the outcome isn’t. There’s a distinction there. Plenty of correct decisions have produced undesirable outcomes. Just ask Neville Chamberlain’s ghost.

Society would be safer without guns.

Individually you would obviously be safer if you have a weapon. That's just how it is.

If you ignore all empirical evidence, I’m sure you might be right.

Statistically, you are plain wrong.

Imagine a Manc voting for the party that has decimated most of the region he lives in for the last 10 years. We know you’re only voting them because you’re a Brexit loving mug.

I would think so, yes.

If you have a gun, and the gangster sees that, you’re likely to be shot at.

If you don’t have a gun, you’re not likely to be shot at.

Firstly, I voted to remain. Secondly, you sound like a petulant child. Thirdly, you’ve never been to Manchester you mug, but if you had you’d realise that it’s been in receipt of enormous development funding over the last five years.
