It's good to see SF and DUP losing seats. It perhaps is a signt hat the people of NI want a country and not separatism within the province
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Be interesting to see if there will be a united Ireland vote in the coming years.
I just wonder about whether our social services are capable of absorbing another million citizens. Its at breaking point already.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its happening mate, I said the other day that Brexit and the nonsense in England has pushed the agenda for a Utd Ireland far more than bombs and bullets ever could, sooner we get the vote the better but we need to start the conversation now of what a Utd Ireland means for all citizens inclusive and respectful to all
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are right in saying that any potential discussions need to start now. However I reckon we will be at the polls next year and its probably FFs turn in office as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really thought FG are far ahead and ye all love them to bits?

Cant stand Leo and his cronies mate. He looks like he should be presenting catchphrase. That said FF are no better. Its like a choice between a punch in the face or a kick in the nuts.
I always vote an independent local person who is trying to do something for the local community

Labour were finished in Scotland after their love in with the tory's at the last Indy ref.

Now they're pretty much finished down south and Corbyn needs to go pronto.

Massive win for the SNP and they probably can try and force another Indy ref now, won't happen for at least 12 months imo though so we're most definitely leaving the EU and the first year is going to be absolute torture.

Crazy thing is Labour vote collapsed after they became the Labour we'd wanted for years or at least much closer than we'd had for years.

Well I hope the English are happy when there is an increase in poverty, foodbanks, and sick weans and a reduction in benefits, wages and affordable housing.

But hey-ho the bankers, billionaires and oligarchs will get their tax cuts, 3rd, 4th and 5th London residences and masshoove bonuses.

Well done idiots.

This election can be summed up in one simple story, women in bits as she has 14p to her name to live on, who is she going to vote Tory, hell mend them.

Not sure how an independence vote gets through parliament with a huge Tory majority though.

As I heard someone mention where does farage go now?

English independence?

Fooking hope so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He's set up the Reform Party in England as his next step. He wants rid of the House of Lords for a start.

I think English Independence is a natural evolution for him.

Labour are finished in Scotland, the Lib Dems too ffs their leader lost her seat up here they are done.

The only anti-SNP voice is a weak 6 seat whisper of Tory in Scotland, and once Boris gets going the Tories will only weaken in Scotland as his disregard for anything North of Watford becomes pretty much a cabinet policy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the Lib Dems increased their vote share in every seat in Scotland apart from Jo Swinson's

couldnt of predicted the severity of the damage done last night down south

I genuinely hope that they all get shafted down there

the Tory candidate for Ashfield Lee Anderson who is being investigated for anti semetism and who faked a doorstep visit to his pals won his seat

Surely an irrefutable mandate for independence. This Tory majority may be a blessing in disguise.

I was a unionist, ex forces all be it part time (they still get shot too) and proud to be British and Scottish.

The gulf however between England and Scotland in politics has always been big it's now grand canyon sized.

Key fact for me and I will continue to repeat it is that you could delete/burn/destroy every Scottish vote ever cast and it would only change the outcome of one election (1920's) and none in my 41 year lifetime. That's astonishing and how anyone can be ok with it is beyond me.

Westminster isn't fit for purpose it's a detached from reality political class that represents no one.

I would be happy staying in Britain as part of a federal type structure (not unlike the EU) but that's off the table.

The commonwealth however would still be something to be part of affording some of those opportunities. Would also mean our military would continue to work together the same way Canada, Australia and many other commonwealth nation's do.

We need a fresh start and independence is the only way I can see to get that.

Corbyn has been a complete disaster from the date he was appointed the Labour leader. He was the main reason for Labour’s failure. A blind man could see this
