Scotland voted for the EU over the UK. Now Boris has to give them a referendum or bend over to demands.

You realise she lost her seat to SNP who also want to remain in the EU

Yeh, best of luck with your Johnson love in. He will sell you lot out double quick, now he has your vote. Nobody else to blame now, it is all on him.

Boris won’t give Scotland a referendum if he sticks to what was in his (and the LIbDem) manifesto.

If Scotland gets their referendum and gets out they will benefit from being in the Eurozone.

England will be worse off when they exit. Corporations don't want to be in a small market like England and will leave to other European countries with a market of 500m people.

England manufactory is dead and don't produce nothing of worth. The only industry they have left is the financial one which is selling a lot of hot air.

Scotland better be in the EU with countries like Germany which is the biggest economy in Europe and France.

If he does stick to it, may just be the first time ever that he has told the truth.

Anyone expecting to be able to trust any politician is naive.

This is just wrong on nearly every point. Scotland cannot remain in the EU regardless of being part of the UK or not. They will have to go through the joining process which they will fail for 2 reasons.

1. They are economically a shambles, they are currently running at double the debt required to join the EU.

2. Spain and other countries have clearly stated they won't approve their application as it could encourage other break away groups like the Catalans.

The UK on the other hand will be free to undercut the inefficient EU in any way it wants, making it more than competitative to the 'Corporations' you mentioned.

There might be some downturn but overall removing legislation, expanding to wider markets (markets that encourage free trade - unlike the EU that tries to protect certain industries at the customer's expense) is a time proven formula for growth.

And lastly as Flashy said - they won't get a referrendum anyways (sadly), England would be far better off without a country that continually votes in hard left parties and can't pay for itself.

Anyone know what the closest run constituency was? Last time I think Dudley North (or South?) had about 15-20 votes in it.

Where I live Labour won but only by 1,500 votes. Massive decrease from 2017.

These are the chapters Scotland would need to meet to accede as an independent nation.

London is basically propping up the rest of the UK, time for London to go Independent. All those voters up North and in the Midlands who think Brexit is going to give them a land of honey, are in for a massive, massive shock.

Brexit will define how this country goes anyway, not which party won an election, and all the signs are that is going to be a disaster. This country is going to be a complete mess over the next decade.

As for the Spanish government blocking access:

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-spain-politics-scotland/spain-would-not-oppose-future-independent-scotland-rejoining-eu-minister-idUKKCN1NP25P

There are a few other quotes from different people in Spain but I assume this will be enough to show that comment was nonsense.

It is expected that Scotland would join the EU quickly due to already having regulatory and legal alignment.

You just can't make it up can you.

I bet Boris and Nigel Farage are laughing non stop and can't believe how dumb people are. No doubt now that Farage will get a knighthood.
