If you put him in front of the defense he'd be in midfield !
If you put him "behind" a half decent defense it stands to reason you'd actually see a lot less of him.... dope
Leno is a great shot stopper. Good with his feet, but this has led to the suicidal tactics of always playing short from the back.
Not always great at dealing with crosses.
There is a good argument to say he is third best in the league behind Allison and Ederson. de Gea has had a difficult couple of seasons, Lloris was abysmal before his injury, Kepa is in the same sort of class as these lot, Schmeichel is consistant.
I dont like this thing of claiming a player is world class when he hasnt been fully tested. Ashley cole aluded the same thing to this habit of calling players in the first or second season world class.
Its nonsense.

Ederson only has 9 caps. Germany have a long standing #1 in Neuer who was rated as best in world for many years, plus another keeper rated world class in ter Stegen.

He is a very good goalie. Unlucky to be born in when there's 1 or 2 from his country who are just that bit better. One of those that's worth 5 or 10 points a season.

You. dont have any world class players. You have good premier league players but not world class ones.
Leno is good, world class is pushing it. Not nearly as good as Alisson and Ederson with ball at his feet. Decent shot stopper though.

Leno is surely not behind Ederson or Allison. No one of them is flawless. Surely it is easier for a goalkeeper like Allison with a better defense in front of him than it is for Leno.
The question to ask is if Allison and Ederson would do better than Leno with that defence I have to front of them. We've seen Adrian come in for Liverpool and not much change for them. Adrian is a good keeper, PL level, but isn't world class either (someone West Ham regret letting go it seems).
I don't think any of the top keepers in the world would perform much better than Leno with that defence in front of them.
