I thought the same …. i'm not sure our system is currently broken ….. playing well and top of the league?
Why would we change that?
Being able to switch would probably be good, if plan A isn't working maybe?
Agree with VOF, as a plan B it would be good to try two up top... but plan B only - but would no way change it up.. plan A is currently running top of the league, and I wouldn't say we struggle to break teams down either if I'm honest.. was a problem earlier in the season, not so much now though ??

Cal... I believe the reason we dominate teams (or have done, wouldn't say recently) is because of the way we play. i.e one up top.
what formation would you use if you played with 2?

We would be lucky to make play offs playing 4-4-2.
No way should we be expected to be hammering lots of them. Sides play against us with the attitude of first priority to not get hammered. And if somehow they have kept us down to nil or just 1 goal to try and nick a point in the last 1 mins.
When sides do that it is incredibly rare that a side will score 4 or 5.
And 4-4-2 will definitely not change that.
The game has changed and sides are so much more tactically aware and organised that it is very rare that hammerings occur. Mor elikley to happen when two teams atre evenly matched and going for it than when a side like us is so dominant the opposition just focus on making it as difficult as possible.

I have realised that. And that's alright but the whole point of the site is to debate opinions and that's all I am doing.
Faith.. I agree with that, one up top is massive to the way we play..
I think Cal meant to move to 442 if we are 0 - 0 and not getting through.. as a B plan? Cal?

No actually start like that sometimes thinking more at home. Just to mix it up and not make the tactical plan for the opposition easy.

then I'll have to disagree with you there... I must admit I have said similar earlier on in the season.. but with hindsight, no, we must continue to play the way we are..
but when you're 0 - 0 vs Wigan at home with 15 to go for example, yeah, lets go two up top.. but that's the only scenario for me

The biggest difference to our ability to create is not a second striker. It's having a 10 in the middle.
When Pablo or Roberts is in the middle we are so much better. Due to injuries we are having to play Klich there for the second spell this season & he is an 8. He's not creative enough to play that role when the defence is so deep. We need him behind either Pablo or Roberts as much as possible. The fact that they are injured together is a huge loss and has really hurt against both Fulham & West Brom away.

Totally agree about the number 10 role..
did not work out for us or eddie, last night proved that.
we need better
Not sure what's being driven at here.
Nketiah wouldn't have arrived without MB's blessing. You can see the appeal. Young player itching for first team action that has plenty of potential.
The problem was our "system" is based on one striker that can play a traditional number 9 role roughing up the defence. Nketiah wasn't that type of player and wasn't better than Bamford.
As a result game time was limited.
As it stands Leeds United won't be seen as a good destination for players in a similar position viz a viz wanting game time.
Playing the game means we should be paying compliments etc particularly when the situation isn't of the player's making.
I don't think it'll make much difference either way. MB is too stubborn to change and I can't believe we'll find anyone suitable anyway.
I said yesterday, this whole post was a stupid Wum job.
Why are we still arguing? Eddie Nketiah is no longer a LUFC player. Let's all move on.
Things still look bloody brilliant.
