Always liked Arteta and Arsenal as a club, yesterday he got the tactics, formation and style spot on. Seems a good match to me for what it's worth.

Needs time and money though.

I didn't want Arteta at all, thought it was too much of a risk given he'd never managed before. Obviously it'll be amazing if he turns out to be the right man and I'll gleefully accept being wrong.

The signs were very positive yesterday. No way will our players be able to keep up the level of intensity shown in the first half for whole games but I like the approach.

Even after a few games you can (for the first time in years) see a team trying to execute a viable game plan.

Seeing Luiz’s post match interview, he’s the right choice. Manager of the year if he keeps it up.

Totally agree on that. One of my biggest worries was how the experienced players would react to him given he was almost the same age and without any real gravitas of previous successes as a coach.

Think we are going to finish mid-table this season. So the FA Cup is a trophy we can win along with the Europa Cup. Can't afford to take it too lax tbh. However injuries are forcing us to play the kids anyway so i think they are good enough to beat Leeds.

Kids were doing better than the experienced players under Emery. Just look at results in the League Cup.

I like how he's instilling back the importance of playing for a great club like Arsenal as oppose to a bunch of players earning loads of money. I think that's all what the fans wanted, fight for the badge a bit more.

His appointment excited me and so far I’m still excited. Aside from that there’s not much else to add, other than it seems I’m far from alone in that - which was one of the most important things for the new manager to do.

I think there is more to it than that pp. Tactically Arteta is going back to how we used to play under Wenger in the early 2000s. For example using full backs in central midfield on one side and using the other as a winger. To an extent Arteta has lucked into AMN having to start at right back who can do that (just like how Lauren and Ashley Cole used to play). Thats shored up the right side allowing Pepe yesterday to remain higher up the pitch and also CM where we have had the main problems.

Thats not a surprise because people forget Pep actually did his coaching badges under Wenger in the 2000s so Arteta is going to be most influenced by those two managers the most!

Arteta is a progressive modern day manager. A lot of managers and ex players have spoken very highly of him before he joined us and he was in the running for the job before Emery took over.

In the 3 games you can already see a identity, something we never really saw under Emery

If we play this well for the rest of the season top 4 is a possibility however unlikely.

9pts over 17 games isn't much

cant believe how bad emery was. seemed to have a plan on how he wanted the team to play and when it didn't work he was lost.
i think you have a good manager in arteta.

The biggest problem Emery seemed to have was communication, we know in training players were having to ask others what Emery was asking them to do !

Emery was culpable though, I was shocked when he came back after the summer and his English was STILL absolute shiiit. I stopped listening to his press conferences because they were so incoherent so goodness knows what the players were thinking...

Yeah saw that interview as well and for me it was one of the best after match interviews for a long time.

It said a lot what the players feeling right now are and what is going on in the lockerroom.

I was sceptical about Arteta if I am honest. His interviews and press conferences are all brilliant. Hope he can continue to keep the players working hard for their money.

I suggested a while ago that Arteta was either going to be the next Klopp, Pep, Wenger etc. or diabolical failover who won't last to the summer. So far it seems we could have stumbled upon a great manager. Still early though.

It was a good time to take the risk on Arteta tbh, the season is all but over and the rebuilding process has begun. If Arteta failed the new manager in the summer if he succeded long term.

Board made a smart choice and Arteta has been SUPER impressive, long it may continue..Definitely a Top four manager by the looks of it, has yet to be seen if he can deliver a trophy...

The early signs are promising but these are VERY early signs. Could easily still flop (although I REALLY want him to succeed as he was one of my favorite players when he did play for us)

I have said here before you appointed him it would be a good decision.

The reason is the things I have read about his coaching and how he want to set his team up.

Lacazette is the better lone striker than Aubameyang and the reason is he is better at holding the ball up and linking the play. That was one of the changes he made which will be a success.

The last 3 games there was a clear structure and framework how he wants to play. Hard work is the base for success and all those ingredients were there to see.

Mikel Arteta: "Kolasinac wasn't ready but said if you need me, I'll play. Same with Pépé."

Arteta made them to believe and to work hard and go over their limits. Surely a reason of communication and laguage barrier.

Most Arsenal players seemed more enthusiastic and passionate. However, the re-building of this mess has just begun! The team was much more organized on defense and, believe it or not, players covered for each other whenever United broke loose.

However, I still do not understand the sloppy, mostly defensive, performance in the second half? With a 2-0 lead at half-time why didn't the Gunners immediately try to put the game away early in the second half? Can't prove it, but if United had scored in the second half, even in the last 10 minutes, the story could have been different.
