Makes you realise just how informed Eric is, compared to Ramma
Rooney is such a quality player he gives Cocu plenty of options. We can play 4-1-3-2 with Rooney in the centre of the three, 4-2-3-1 with Rooney either as a deep midfielder or at the centre of the three or 4-4-1-1 with Rooney as the number 10. With Huddz back, Bird looking the real deal and Bielik available soon there are great options and further forward we also look spoiled for choice with Holmes, Knight, Sibley, Lawrence and soon Shinnie. Today we were able to control the game for significant periods because of the quality in midfield. It does feel as though a corner might have been turned.

I thought Eric Steels illuminated the whole programme. Ramage is quite entertaining and gives a player's insight into what it might feel like to be in the game on the pitch. But Steele was a delight all match and easily controlled and corrected the commentator's errors and misconceptions. No doubt Ramage has a contract but it would be very nice to have Steele permanently. I felt much better informed for his contribution.
'Explosiveness and attacking swagger has characterised the bulk of Rooney's career, but this was a display embodied by poise, temperament and guile.'

First win in London for over two years. Yet another Premier League scalp. Forest lost. What's not to like?
But the game today just shows what can be done with a decent game plane and players to implement the plan. All then needed is an authority and a guide on the pitch to keep reminding the players what they have to do. The first away win since August says it all. Cocu's team selection was inspired and brave.

Thank you TUX for your grown up attitude. It does you proud.
Huddlestone’s contract is up in the summer. I wonder whether Cocu might be tempted to see if he would accept a one-year deal. We will have Bird, Bielik and Rooney who can play in that position but it will be asking a lot for Rooney to play all of every match when he is 35 and Bielik seems to miss as many matches as he plays. Huddz would be very good cover or a bit-part player when the need arises. He and Rooney oozed calmness in possession today and that can only help the younger players.

With his contract being up I imagine the club are looking for a fee for him this month.
