Will be a really interesting selection and maybe an indication of how Cocu will approach the rest of the season. We’ve won three on the trot but perhaps the best performance was last weekend when we had made nine changes.

Certainties: Hamer, Davies, Clarke, Rooney
Probables: Bogle, Lowe, Knight
4 more places: choose from Holmes, Huddlestone, Bird, Lawrence, Martin, Waghorn, Marriott

Rooney and Huddlestone were so impressive vs Palace he will be tempted to keep them together at the base of midfield. That would allow Holmes and Knight as the narrow wide men and Martin pairing Marriott up front. Surely that’s the way to go?

Why do we always seem to play boro at their dump in January? Has the fixtures computer a vendetta against Derby?

At least the debate has moved on from who do we put in to who do we leave out.
