I don’t think nketiah signing was a shambles. I thought it was a lot of money for an unproven prospect but the real issue was not whether he was any good or not... I’m sure he’ll do well in the right set up... but whether he was ever going to be right for our set up.
My guess is they thought, a different type of striker to bamford, different attributes... will provide options. But we have a manager that had a formula that was winning games and stuck with it.
As for Adams.. on last season’s form he’d be a great addition on paper... who knows why it hasn’t happened for him this year... whether it’s the system or form. Maybe no room for him and Ings and Ings has been saints player of the season.

Sorry! Room for two?
Eddie was a good signing, can’t fault the lad.
Biesla rightly played bamford because he was better for team. Wasn’t that he didn’t rate him.
No less no more
I actually think Ayala is a decent enough player, he isint a lumpy as is being made out.
Truth is though Boro are playing with Howson at the back at the moment so they would be stupid to lose another defender regardless of his contract status, they have to keep hold of him.
If you look at our squad, both Berardi and Ayling can slot into the centreback role, add to that Dallas is a great rightback so can cover there if we needed to move ayling into the middle I just cant see us bringing in a centreback.
At the most I suppose I could see us looking to bring in a younger player to replace White for next season, get them in early and get them up to speed type job.
If you are a striker worth his salt currently not getting game time and you watched that performance against Arsenal you should be beating down your managers door if you heard we were interested in you, because there is no way on earth you wouldnt want to play in that side.
By the way, I liked the look of Meslier but I would like to point out that while his distribution was great i'd like to see a little bit more of his actual keeping before i decide to think he is the best prospect ever.
BPF had good distribution... he also had wrists so weak im not sure if he could even manage to jerk himself off.
so id like to make sure we aint got another "rubber wrist" on our hands before committing fully to "he is the best prospect ever" camp.
Spot on regrading the keeper.
Thought he should have done better for the goal.
Yes his passing was sensational but need to see if he’s actually any good at the keeping bit before I start bumming him

Thought he made a couple of good shots down low in the second half. Can be a problem for tall goalkeepers. Not always easy to get down quickly. He was unlucky with the goal, in my view.
Batty has moved the goalposts on his Nketiah stance.

Not at all. I said at the time, Bamford couldn't score to save his life. And we had Eddie on the bench, who was brought in to score. I kept being told (on here), that Bamford not scoring wasn't an issue. Messiah and club obviously felt the same way. It was supremely frustrating for me (and others). That we persisted, and only gave Eddie minutes here and there. So, for me and many others we rightly asked: why the fook is Eddie here?
I never said Eddie was a bad signing. But the situation was a farce. The club had every opportunity to solve this issue in the summer with a signing who was either a replica of Bamford or a starter-kit. Either solution would've been better, because we all now know Messiah wants to play with a lone striker, in PB's mold. And only that way.
MB is stubborn is an Andes mule. But, I'm fine with that.
I'll add, and this speaks to what Don keeps posting, I for one do understand that Bielsa does not give a fook what we think. He's setting the team up, and bringing in players to suit himself. And as far as I'm concerned,
keeping doing just that MB, you're taking us up your way.
And I hope it's also obvious, I don't give a fook how anyone reacts to what I post. Sometimes I post what I actually think. Sometimes I post to wind people up.
It's all a fooking laugh to me, however individuals take it.
We're going up.
I think the idea with Nketiah was bringing in a fast player that could play the lone striker role. As it transpired, Nketiah had neither the physical presence nor the drive to play the way that Bamford does. Its not the case that Bielsa wanted someone who played the exact same way to Bamford.
The situation wasn't a farce. It was unfortunate that Arsenal didn't give Nketiah the time to learn from Bielsa (which will be to the detriment of the player in my personal opinion), in favour of him being sent out again to get regular gametime from a manager who will help him grow significantly less.

more arsenals loss than ours.
Think the best transfer deals we could do this window is get Orta out and bring in whoever is in charge of brentfords scouting network. Many on here said we should have been signing the likes of watkins and henry in the past when they were available for reasonable prices only for orta to bring out his blunderbuss and blast away hoping for the best and missing spectacularly and costing the club a fortune

Mor has real issues with coaches, I can't see Bielsa wanting to bring that to the club.
At this point in season, fit, good record of lack of injuries in past, good goalscoring record and decent grasp of English, Spanish a bonus.
