Eriksen.... Was it all about money ?

Don't think he was ever fussed about money. He thought he was good enough for Madrid or Juve, especially given he was on a free. They're not interested and Inter are the best team left interested so it's a marriage of convenience.

If it was about money he would go to United. But fair play to him, he's going to the best football team available to him.

What about the signing fee? Surely no transfer fee.means theyll pay a shed load to eriksen up front.

Eriksen was one of Spurs best ever players since the Prem began. His stats speak for themselves. 51 goals and 62 assists. Very, very good. So I won`t be badmouthing him, like a lot on here. Admittedly he has not been at his best for the past six months, but even so, he will be badly missed. Let`s hope Lo Celso can step up to the plate.

I think Alderweireld and Eriksen wanted out, but ideally for their dream clubs ofc. Neither clearly got any interest from them so Alderweireld decided he'd rather stay on a nice pay rise, Eriksen decided he'd still prefer a new challenge even for less pay than he could get at Spurs?

These things happen, Emre Can did it to us, They've seen out their contracts cant really hold it against them.

Don't blame him for wanting to move on. Wants a new challenge and to have a fair crack at winning stuff most likely. Spurs have not won anything in all the time he's been here and the ownership has shown so little ambition to do so. The appointment of Mourinho might be a signal of ambition to some people but most think he's past his best and even if he isn't the limitations at Spurs will hold him back from true success.

not if he joins this month. he wants to go, inter need him to challenge Juve and levy wants a fee

Leaving us to go to Inter Milan, a club that won’t win at European level and in a league dominated by Juventus.

Great move, moving sideways if not backwards, glad he’s going if he’s willing to leave us for Inter and a big pay day.

Inter look like a team in with a chance of winning Serie A (top for the next 8 hours at least) and seem to be moving forward as a club.

When your at his level it's never just about money. He is mega rich already.

I think his situation epitomises spurs failure's recently.
Building a top tier quality team on a shoe string that gets so close to touching trophies, whilst generating record income. Then the board chose to not spend any of it for several windows... doesn't install much confidence as a player in your prime.

The fans make that money and it's sad it wasn't put back into the club. Players want trophies. Players want investment when it's necessary. All spurs fans could see areas that needed improving and players that weren't replaced.

Levy simply took it as an example that you don't have to invest heavily, which in my view was a massive error of judgement. Spurs could have easily kicked on like Liverpool. Levy has sacked potch but replaced him with a worse manager. I at least enjoyed watching potch teams.

I'll happily wish him well but be sad to see him leave spurs even if the fans booed him yesterday

He wanted out of the club regardless of what we offered ( around 185k I last saw ).

Think ultimately he just fancied a change, like he said he did all along

Exceptionally poor player management by Levy the Scrooge.

I heard Inter are offering him 10m euros a year, which works out at around £163K a week.

I don`t blame him for wanting out, he`s given us 7 years good service and seen a lack of proper ambition to kick on from the board.

Good luck to him and thanks for the memories, at least he is not joining another PL club.

I felt a bit sorry for him yesterday when the crowd were giving him grief as he left the pitch. Fair play to him, he just took and didn't storm down the tunnel.

The mismanagement of Eriksen by the club has been laughable. He clearly never wanted to sign a new deal. Should have been sold 2 years ago when we would could have got £100m for him. Even this summer levy was asking for stupid money for him. Now we'll get £15m if we're lucky.

Unfortunately he had made up his mind a while back that he would never win anything at WHL. Now that Spurs have a manager that knows how to win things, he may have been persuaded. But I suspect he had already decided enough was enough.

No, never about money

He stayed at a wage level way below of someone as good as him for 5 years with us. No, money isn't his motivator. He isn't a Willian

Like everyone in life, once in a while you need to move on and try somewhere else. Also, his family want to live in Spain.

Who wouldn't?

I think Levy gets alot of unfair criticism on here but on this occasion its valid. We could of got an awful lot of money for him 18 months ago when he first refused to sign a new contract and his stock was high, the failure to get rid is on Levy.

I don't blame him for wanting to leave. Any ambitious player would but more so he just wants a change...

I think he is bored of the cycles of failure. Levy has not backed the team when they peaked under the current squad.

The future isn't bright at all right now. What has ruined it for him is coming out after the final and then dishing out poor performances. If he'd just played well everyone would be on his side.

Our best attacking midfielder in a long time.
