Milik would be a good signing for us if he wasn't a crock
Nike tournament in Amsterdam around 1999/2000. He played for Belgium. No lies Thudd. The pinnacle of youth football days guy was a man mountain even then. Our coach wanted to see his papers he was that big and still the youngest player on the pitch.

I'd rather we made no signings than made a panic signing who come the summer won't be needed.
I think if you're spurs / Levy you write this season off, sadly, and put together a transfer plan for the summer that actually has some planning behind it.

I'd rather we made no signings than made a panic signing who come the summer won't be needed.
I think if you're spurs / Levy you write this season off, sadly, and put together a transfer plan for the summer that actually has some planning behind it.

Benteke signing will be up there with Louis Saha and Ryan Nelson desperation.

Saha joined on loan for half a season. He scored 3 league goals in 10 games, 4 in 12 games overall.
This compares to Luis Suarez who joined Liverpool in January 2011. he managed 4 goals in 13 games.
Both these players records are both better than Dzeko who joined City in Jan 2011 for City's second highest fee and managed 2 in 15.
Point being that actually January signings are rarely instant impacts so even if we had signed Suarez or Dzeko instead of Saha that Jan its unlikley he would have contributed anything more to our season than Saha did. So not desperation IMO!

Benteke is like the worst striker in the league at the moment. If we go for him it shows how facking non-committed we are to improving the team. Even if Levy doesn't want to spend any money can we at least put some thought into our targets?

Four goals and five assists in 13 games, whilst playing very well, in a new position. He was used as a wide forward on the right at Ajax. Suarez was an instant impact. He definitely needed work on his finishing however, in the new position and as you say, it takes time for players to get used to the system etc. However he definitely made an instant impact.
However Suarez wasn't just a finisher, a traditional number 9, he did so much more for the team which aren't reflected in stats.
